Got wet on Friday, so polished up the boots today and worked out they are actually 40 years old, Alpine star touring boots with pig skin lining, comfortable as an old pair of slippers
Now that's a hellva good recommendation! 40 years out of 1 pr boots. :onya: :clapping: Worn daily & done 500,000 k's of all weather riding. :stir: :happy1:

Not far off , they were worn daily in all weather for a long time, quick calc of the bikes they outlasted is about 350 k, had 2 resoles and getting close to needing a third, and the zips recently shit themselves when they came out of semi retirement due to this covid shit
Thats great value Steve. Not sure their quality as good now, jackets at least. Mates expensive Alpine broke zip 3rd use and replacement about to break. Rest of jacket is really good stuff so hes gonna pay to have zips all replaced. Just his choice.
They do have a made in Italy label, seems everything these days, no matter the brand is made you know where, and it ain't Italy
@steve porter You've certainly had your moneys worth out of those boots :onya:
Boots are one of the most important items of riding kit. Not only do they need to keep your feet warm and dry in all riding conditions, but they also need to protect you in the event of an accident.
8 years ago I purchased a pair of Sidi Adventure Goretex boots for the sum of £350.You can now pick them up for under £240! It seemed a lot to shell out at the time..BUT..After riding the GSX1400 for 8 winters in the UK I can honestly say that I never once got cold or wet feet! Only ever wore thin cotton socks with them too, even riding in temps of minus seven degrees! They are still as good as new as well. They get regularly cleaned and treated with Renapur Leather Balm.
I can't recommend them highly enough to anyone wondering about which boots are the best to buy.

Just tried Renapur last week on my leathers and boots Wow! It's great stuff, you need very little, brings them up like new, covers marks and really does soften the leather. Wished I'd found it years ago.

I'm still only 2/3 of the way through a tub of Renapur I bought about 15 years ago! It's brilliant stuff.

I looked for replacements when the zips went as I was struggling to find someone capable of repairing them, tried a few on but all were too narrow and sporty for what I wanted, must admit I didn't look at the adventure style, but they look the goods, and waterproof as well, the old alpine stars were pre goretex so I rely on Renapur as well, but they do let in water via the zips after a while.
@steve porter The Adventure boots are a nice wide fitting and unusally for a new pair of boots, they were comfy from the first time I put them on :onya:
I use altberg boots great for everything .
Gortex lined and very hard wearing .
As I have sourced a zip guy, and my wet weather riding is only if I get caught,I reckon these buggers will see me out after I get a third resole this coming warm weather when I can use a lighter pair that I have while these are being repaired, as the main body of the boots are as good as, if not better than new
