Life has got in the way for the past 3-4 months boy's. Have started the bike once in that whole time :bugga:
Managed to pick up Covid 19 back in March after we returned from Phuket for my wife's 50th & our 28th wedding anniversary. No big drama health wise, just more a pain in the arse really, as only I tested positive & not the missus. So that meant the 3 in our household had to go into lockdown for 2 weeks & I had to self isolate from them during that time. Turned me in to a real lazy bastard & Netflix addict 😄 All worked out well though.
I have been tossing around the idea of getting my first brand New bike for a year or so now & decided that life's too short (not Covid related :)and I'm not getting any younger(53) & if I'm going to do it, then nows the time, so I can still enjoy it.
So I have put down a deposit on a 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX (sports/tourer) which should arrive in Sept :boogie2: and regrettably will be selling the 14 this week 😌
I will still be hanging around though, as I know you can not survive without my valuable input :whistling: :rofl2:
& this place needs a Kawasaki owner ;)
🍻
Hi Sweaty, yeah been a while. Glad the covid 19 didn't affect you too much, just the lockdown. Just had a look at the new bike, specs look good, but don't think my back would thank me for it.
Glad you'll be sticking around, speaking of around, must be your shout mate, if you can buy a new bike, you can surely buy yer mates a beer or 2!
Glad your ok
@Sweaty Be interested in your thoughts on your next bike .
Glad your not going anywhere .
Reviews sound pretty good Sweaty, says its got loads of torque and a good fuel range.
Sure you will enjoy it once you get it.
....... whats the wife getting ??
You kept that quiet Steve ... both the virus and the new bike. Before you get the new toy we'll have to have a 14 ride ... only so I can remind you about the dumb thing you're doing. :confused1:
Cheers Boys.
KC, It actually has high bars & a really upright ride, which is something i was looking for & never considered it, till i went and sat on one.
The Ninja name, gives you the impression it going to be a sports bike (all faired models are now called ninja's) look at the pics of them Col & you can see the height of the bars to the seat height.
Seth & KF, really impressed from the test ride and reviews have been great, but time will tell. Silky smooth with heaps of torque, great handling & all the bells & whistles on the 20 & 21 models (not that i will use them all :) Quickshifter is a bit of fun and could get use to that on long rides.
Whats the wife getting you ask KF, probably the Shits ;) No, she's all good. A happy husband ;)
Snapey, Exactly mate. I kept the bike quiet so you couldn't talk me out of it . I have rang you twice, does your mobile # still end in 980 ?
:onya:
Welcome back mate.
The new bike sounds good but you know you will regret selling the 1400....

Same number Steve but I forget to carry it & never check for missed calls.
Sweaty, a good choice i reckon. A new can id have. Lots of accessories available.
A friend of mine bought a Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX a few months ago now.
Absolutely loves it. He got the panniers with it as well and replaced the OEM tyres with a set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres.
Good to hear BD. I also ordered it with the panniers as well. Going to miss the centre stand though

One thing you can almost always guarantee about OEM tyres is that they are cheap shite.
There was a lot of complaints about the OEM tyres on the previous 2018/19 models.
So they have changed them to Bridgestone Hypersport S22's for 20/21 model. Reports are good for these as far as OEM go, but I have not been a fan of Bridgestone in general in the past. Will soon find out I guess.
My mate changed them on his 900 to the S21 he since traded to the 1000 which I'm sure are S22, he loves them.
Good to hear Jeff. Yeah, they actually have very good reviews, so will definitely use them up before I replace them.
