I need a new pair of bike jeans - looking for black ones as I need to be able to get away with wearing them to my office job.
The ones I currently have are RHOK brand but don't appear to be available any longer,
What brands can people recommend? Ideally at decent prices not crazy expensive.
I'd want knee and hip armour with them.
Ta
You gonna wear that all day at the office? ??? :confused1: You've got a top box, put a comfy pair of trousers in there & change at work. :boogie:
Yeah, I do already jeans and boots are both comfy.
Can't be arsed changing.
Draggin is my goto, or Draco is another one. Both brands around 300 a pair, kevlar lined knees, hips and rear.
Cheaper than hospital stays and skin grafts....
I wear fatgit ones ! :)
We both use bull-it jeans on our bikes they are slightly padded with full Kevlar linings and can be used even in dry winter days .
They do get a bit warm in high summer time .
Also have dragin jeans but I now prefer the bull-it ones .
RST for me , a nice comfortable pair to wear and like notty says they come in fatgit sizes at a reasonable price too!!.
I've just bought a pair of road skin Jean's.
Thanks all I'll keep an eye out for those brands.
Decent ones are some stupidly expensive eh, $300 for jeans is a lot even if they do have Kevlar in them.
Do any of teh bnrands mentioned included knee and hip armour?
Just found website again http://www.rhok.com.au/jeans.htm maybe they are still going? I'll have to check into it.
"Test" video of Sweep jeans.

I'll bet that made his arse hot !
Also sliding significantly slower than a real world off situation in most cases...
More speed is more heat with jeans, goretex, leather or what ever riding gear,
but those kevlar jeans are better than ordinary jeans ;)
RHOK are good Vlad I've had a pair for ages, can't fault them. They arrived with knee & hip armour (removeable) plus full kevlar and stretch fabric. I also like the ALDI ones that come out once a year.
You get what you pay for is how I look at it, the safety gear has to work really well once and only once. I've saved some skin over the years and you can't put a price on that. :hat:
I have Draggin jeans, have never done a road test on them so cant say about performance. On any rides of about 300k they seem ok for comfort but I did a ride of about 700k and my arse was sore I could feel the dimples of the kevlar material even on my thigh.

Not going to even comment ........................................... :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
Won't be too many that's can comment on rides that long.

YES YES that's what I meant :stir: :stir: :stir: :stir: :stir: :stir:
It's an overnighter for you :stir:
I've done over 700k's in 1 go, and Yeah, I know what you mean, absolutely.

No mention of the aforementioned butt soreness though Col :stir: :stir: :stir: :stir: :whistling: :whistling:
Mate, I was stiff, sore & could hardly lift my left leg to change down a gear, like I was frozen in that 1 position. Me backside was stinging sore, hence I modified the seat & put a gel insert in it.
As Tony used to say, there's a lot to be said for 'bike fit'. Think the ride I'm thinking of was 900 odd K's. Was a while ago, but the memory of it is still there . . .
I've done the same ride quite a few times after just didn't wear the Draggin's, wasn't a problem those then.
I agree "Bike fitness" has a lot to do with how you feel at the end of the day. I'm not sure how the "Iron Butt" riders do it though.
They have an iron butt, that helps a lot.
Normally I go the Draggin Jeans but the inserts are extra, they do a good set of Cargo pants in Black, $200-$250 dollars at the Store.
I also bought a pair of Dri-Rider Jeans with inserts for the knee's for $120 on sale, not as good as the Draggin Jeans but acceptable.
I'm big on the Spidi "H2out"over pants. Quite warm so not for all year round.
Full zip both sides so just zip off. Waterproof and warm. Order up a size for comfort.
I use Rokker Revolution jeans, a bit expensive but waterproof with knee and hip armour.
Still haven't decided which ones to get but I would want to get some locally as I would have to try them on before buying and I wouldn't want to make a mistake when buying something that expensive.

I`ve been googling the shit out of these as my Draggin`s are now miles too big for me and they are fairly old so have the Kevlar linings but no armour, which I want . D30 seems to be the dogs nuts of Armour and the only ones that I can find locally with the D30 are the Triumph branded ones, they are exxy, but the armour is included, am going to have a look when out of lockdown.
I went for Rokker jeans with 3DO ghost armour, they're supposed to have been tested to give a longer sliding protection than leather.
Blimmin expensive for a pair of jeans, but similar price to decent leathers, and closest for comfort and looks to a pair of normal jeans, certainly more comfy than my Hood kevlar lined jeans as they're lighter, and cooler when it's hot.

Not on their website, however they are available here via mail order from a crowd in Sydney, bloody expensive and I would need to try them on

I needed to, just stopped sugar altogether, and toast in the morning and have lost 15 kegs
Well done Mate. Stopped sugar, cakes, ice cream etc 7 years ago, lost 18kg. Probably 4 or 5 back on but still all good. Buying new clothes just a real PIA. I drink too much beer but cant change spots on a, think its a leopard. 😂

Yea, F exercise, you can't outrun a cupcake
I have some Aldi jeans, bought extra armour, they rate better in tests than some that are 5x price. Fit well, dont have a problem with them. If youre size is 92, know of some used, hardly used, $60 for 2 pair, i checked them out but didnt need. Might still be for sale.
Be more like 100 in metric speak
Are there special jeans for bikers?
Yep.
Basically they are denim jeans with Kevlar lining. Some are good, some aren't.
Some have inserts (knee and hip protectors) some don't.
I wear a set and think its a good compromise between leather pants and normal jeans.
There's always a risk and when it comes to it jeans will not protect you from impact
They will (to an extent) prevent your skin and muscle from being left as mince meat across the cheese grater bitumen if you come off.
Why are you looking for jeans in the mass market? Most bikers prefer simple or motorcycle jeans made of special fabric. Kevlar is an artificial material with increased strength qualities. This fabric is very dense and can even protect a motorcyclist in case of a fall. You should look for just such jeans and maybe you will find a pair you can also wear in the office. But some bikers, especially girls, wear regular jeans and change clothes in the office. Recently, my biker friend sent me a link to an article about link removed by admin , and I was very surprised because she thought she wasn't wearing anything like that.
I road in armoured jeans, of various makes, for years. Lighter and generally more comfy than leather. Can be just as expensive unless you shop around. Kevlar lined for sure. Thing is that no motorcycle jacket or jeans is made to prevent crash injuries, unless it has the equivalent of CE rated armour in elbows, knees etc when it will help. They're designed to prevent fusing with the road when you slide down it in an off. Jackets would need to be a metre thick to prevent actual crash damage, thats why some have airbags. Decent gloves AND decent boots are essentials I reckon, used to hate seeing kids riding around in trainers.
Mate, they ride in shorts n T shirts here. Makes me cringe. Boots, gloves, jacket always for me. Bike jeans i like, far too hot here for leathers. Only slight protection, every bit helps.

Only once have I ever ridden in t-shirt and jeans. Sunny saturday morning to brands hatch (lived less than 10 miles away) for a race meet. Was gonna be a hot day and couldn't be arsed carrying heavy leather jacket etc around. Took it nice n steady. However, on the ride back home afterwards, I saw a bike, T bone a car, at a road junction. If that had been me I'm sure I've have been damaged. Never again rode without full gear, no matter how hot it was.
@Hatiwann Wait one minute you are asking if there are special jeans

2 posts later you are recommending an article from a particular brand?
I assume you have a connection with this brand?

Also you have only those 2 posts and have not actually discussed GSX1400s at all.
Please pop into the introductions section and share some info about your bike, other wise we will need to assume you are a spammer or sorts, and take the necessary action. I'm sure you understand. Thanks
@gsxbarmy @KiwiCol Just noting this post. :)
I wouldn't look for jeans in the mass market. AFAIK, most bikers prefer motorcycle jeans with kevlar padding thanks to their protective qualities. You should hunt for a pair of these jeans and maybe you can find a separate pair for wearing in the office. My biker friend recently sent me a link to an article about
LINK REMOVED BY ADMIN, and I was very surprised. She's a tough-as-nails kinda gal, never thought she was wearing anything like that.
@Hatiwann May I remind you what you were asked by the Head administrator in the previous post (which you seem to have ignored?). "Also you have only those 2 posts and have not actually discussed GSX1400s at all.

Thanks Admin
