Title: Frames
Post by: GSX1400Convert on Wednesday, 17 June 2020, 08:29 AM
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in frames: 2002 vs 2008

If so, what are they?

The only difference I'm aware of is that the lugs first the mainstand were altered (changed from K5 machines onwards)

I believe K3 onwards the steering bearing seats are a bit 'taller' to allow for the taper rollers. Hence when people used to use K3 onward bearings in a K2 they stuck out the frame a bit.

Never seen it myself, but  I recall reading about it.

No problems using  K3 onward bearings in a K2 .

Convert, sounds like a big job coming up. Not interested in getting it checked first?
