I have a K2, which I remove the battery over winter & charge once a month (it's years old).
Thìs year I I fitted a healtech gpi indicator, using the 12v switched feed for the fan.
Started the bike last week, fine apart from FI lamp blinking very slowly.
I used contact cleaner on 5 plugs in vicinity of fuse box (12 way grey plug,2pin green plug, fuel pump plug & gpi plugs)
Went to start yesterday, battery completely flat,
I may have inadvertently left park light on.
Battery charged over night, fuel pump primes ok,
But no dial sweep, no lcd display although neutral & oil light are lit & rpm needle sits @ 1250, regardless of key position &even if battery disconnected. Healtech still plugged in but I've disconnected the +12v
Sounds like the battery may finally have had its day. Have you put a meter across it, what voltage shows (it may be that whilst you have charged the battery, one cell is buggered, so whilst the battery has "charged" its no longer a 12v battery.
To reset the needles, try this https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=240.0
Just checked ign switch & have no continuity twixt blk/whi & or/blk pair with ign on. Other pairs ok.
Got the switch off. What's the best way to remove fasteners holding baseplate to sw body? I see Hooli's done this.. Thanks in advance.
I'd be putting a new battery in there before I started pulling things to bits. Eliminate the easy stuff first.
Reason for poor continuity twixt Blk/whi & Or/bulk there's a resistor soldered within ign sw.
12.8v on batt, bike starts ,& runs fine. Within headlight shell12.6v at red wire on 6 way connector & 12.6 on Orange green wire on 10 way connector, when running FI lamp lights up every 6 secs. Everything electrical works apart from clocks & LCD displays. Tacho remains static @ 1250rpm. I'm starting to think the clocks are sha**ed.
