Title: Front right timing cover
Post by: BJ on Sunday, 31 May 2020, 10:07 AM
Just took the timing cover off to see if any previous owner/s had fiddled with the ignition advance and noticed that there was evidence of oil over everything under the cover with just a couple drops in the bottom of the cover. I would have thought this section would be dry! Is this correct?
Also is the oil pressure sensor in this cover?
If yes should I attempt to tighten it or just replace it?
All advices welcome. TIA

There should be oil. Red arrows show holes in crankcase, so behind them is crankshaft and there is where oil comes from. In this pic I removed oil pressure switch and ignition advancer and plate after crash I had last year to replace broken parts and repair cover bolt thread
