Title: Throttle cables lube
Post by: Jeykey on Monday, 25 May 2020, 12:55 AM
I´d like to know how often you guys lube the throttle cables. What alternatives do you recommend for the lithium based 99000-25010: SUZUKI SUPER SREASE "A" ?

I don't. I thought they had a teflon coating within the outer cable & lube would damage it?

I might be wrong though.

This has reminded me, I need to try & find my spare cable to bung under the seat. It's why I kept it, but I've not seen it since I moved so I might have lost it.

Don´t know about that Hooli, at least the manuals says:

Oh ok, can't say I've ever read that bit.

I have smeared that area in normal general purpose grease occasionally. I thought you meant to force it down the cables, like the old days when you'd hang cables up & drip oil through them overnight.

I haven´t done any. In the old days the oil or spray lasted less. So guess if they factory lubed it, must still be some inside. At least that´s what´s normally happens with greases in my trade. The downside is it can be old and not doing much, or stiffed (since it might be a thin film inside).
