Title: Crankcase cover/breather
Post by: Fozzy1984 on Tuesday, 05 May 2020, 07:06 AM
Hi all,

After a bit of assistance with pro's and con's of low profile crankcase covers.

Just ditched the air box for pod filters, now the crankcase breather I bought fouls the bottom of the throttle bodies.

Do I, remote mount the breather using one of the old air box pipes and keep the standard cover,

Or, make a low profile cover.

Has anyone seen cooling or venting problems with a low profile cover?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Fozzy

I have pod filters and still have the "high" breather box. At this moment i am using one of the original hoses... the elbow... connected to a KN breather filter with a hose barb.

I just ordered a new breather filter with a push fit to clean that area up.

Dont know if it fits yet

Definitely the simplest option I think.

I work in a CNC machine shop so making brackets etc up isn't an issue.

The cover would be simple to make, just getting gaskets and sorting powder coating might not be that easy.

Your problem is covered by a thread on here. Word search air pod filters and all the info is there including crankcase cover breathers @Fozzy1984  :salute:

I can confirm it doesn't fit directly on the original box.

I can also confirm that fitting the vent filter on the oil filler place is a bad idea: your right shin / ankle will get warm  :frustrated:
