I have an opportunity to buy a very nice 1 owner, dealer serviced, kept in a heated garage 93 Gsxr1100 With 15k miles, bog standard too.
Just had a grand spent on carbs being sorted, servicing etc. It's never wanted for anything.
It's in blue n white and I'm very tempted,
What you reckon chaps ?
It all depends on you.
Is it an investment?
Is it a 2 up tourer?
Do you like to boil water?
I wont trade up/down coming from a 14 simply baus the W is to cramped for me.
It is the correct brand, they are reliable, stupid fast and stock 160 ? bhp on tap
Depends how much it's up at Chris, certainly won't have the comfort of your 14.the earlier models ,89/90 s era seem to be more desirable especially in the blue a white .but I would say if it's what you want then go for it,,,otherwise I might ,lol.
Go for it. If you can afford to still keep your 14 as well, then brilliant, but you can always buy another 14 if you don't get on with it. Loads of nice example 14's about, less so '93 GSX-R's.
The question you have to ask yourself is whether you'd regret not buying it. If the answer is yes then you have your answer.
And it is nice......
No, it's ugly.
Interesting comments, I happen to have had 2 water cooled 1100's before and have always wanted a traditional blue and white one. This one has come up and I'm tempted, as has been said they are silly fast and have always got me in trouble but I think I have grown up now ...
I actually had the black one brand new in 94 and another in 96 so I know the bike , they do tour but need leg stretching breaks.
That said I will only use it for the occasional run out I think.
The only other nice 1100w is at P & L Motorcycles , it's lower mileage but it's priced at £7299 which is twice the price (and some) of the one I'm looking at.
I think I will go for it .
No 2
Lol Sheepdog !
The Aussie humour is great, subtle as a club foot!
I had a 97 Blade which was prettier and easier to ride, but lacked the sure footed ness of the mighty 1100, there is a hint of sentimentality involved in wanting another one I have to admit.
Here's my take - if you have to ask someone else whether you should - then don't buy it.
If you KNEW you had to have it, you wouldn't need to ask. Just my $0.02
But hey, you money mate do whatever you want!
My best man asked no one whether he should buy all these bikes or not!
Go for it!
If you want it, and can afford it, buy it. If it was a naked bike I would buy it but I don't do fairings, they are for girls.
Not for me.

Chris you can't beat a good sheep :)
@GSXKING
You can never have too many bikes. I've had gsxr's but never the 1100, 750 was the biggest. If you've got the room and can afford it then buy it - life's not a rehearsal :wheelie:
I want the bike , have had a gsxr750 Wp as well but the 11's are something else with awesome power.
Can't get rid of this Gsxr yearning so I gotta have it!

I agree. If it rocks your boat.
I'm a child of the seventy's and eighty's and the more naked, the more excited I got. And that includes my motorbikes. :onya:

Go for it. When i was living in South Africa, we turned an 89 gixxer 1100 into a street fighter, looked great as a naked bike. This one is too nice and neat, keep it stock, it will appreciate in value.

So did you buy it? I bought 750 gsxr myself last week like you couldn't say no
I have agreed to buy the bike, the owner wants to leave the pick up until after the crisis is over / things are a bit safer.
He is in his seventies albeit young so I understand his concern.
Where did you pick up the 750 Milts? I saw a lovely one on EBay recently was it that one?

I couldn't say no to this one. I am very pleased with it and very fortunate to have found an honest seller.
I had the bike professionally collected and delivered. Not cheap but peace of mind as i've used them a couple of times before.

Very nice :clapping:
Lovely bike. Just get rid of the ugly headlamp cover! The old GSX-R 1100's were awesome machines.
I had the earlier b/w tiger stripe model (N). Posted a pic of it in my gallery.
Very powerful, even though they were really heavy, but fantastic to ride. A really good two-up sports bike too. Typical Gixxer though - regular stops to stretch the legs. Very cramped in that respect.
The only potential issue with them was fork seals, but an easy fix.
Enjoy!
What a Lucky Strike :onya:
