Hi All
Hope you all keeping safe.
Any Datatool experts out there?
I'm trying to understand this Datatool S4 Green/Red alarm, tbh i'm not a fan of alarms and immobilizers.
I have the manual  but still finding it a challenge i'm not very bright :jack:
I can arm and disarm the bike and start it up :clapping:
But try and disarm it so i can move the bike about work on it, the thing just seems to auto alarm.
My question is: Does having the kill switch in the 'on or off' position make a difference to things?
Thanks in advance
Kill switch position will make no difference. On my Datatool Veto Evo the bike can be put into service mode by turning on the ignition and within 5 seconds pressing one of the buttons, the bike will then just beep every 10 seconds or so but it can be moved about. I also have a two button remote which has a transit mode so once armed I press the second button and it disables the tilt alarm so it can be moved about without triggering. I have found datatool to be very helpful so give them a call if you still cannot get it to do what you want.
@mjgt Thanks for that. I know the previous owner had no issues with it but having contacted him several times about other things i didn't want to become a pest
My patience ran out with it yesterday so covered it up and closed the garage door, went in doors for a Bishops Finger...that's an Ale for those of you not familiar
I'm sure the penny will drop eventually, but at least i know the answer about the kill switch.
Cheers.

Glad you cleared that one up
Have a look for ferry or valet mode in the manual.
Personally I think the best thing to do wit aftermarket alarms is rip them off & throw them as far as possible. They don't stop your bike getting nicked, but they do make it more hassle for you to be able to ride it.
Yeah have read that :onya: but you know i have a Masters Degree in stupidity!
'When' the alarm is disarmed should the flashing red indicator still flash on and off? just trying to prevent siren blasting out again before attempting to move the thing and annoying neighbours.
What a considerate geezer i am
Not a clue tbh, I think it was a Datatool I took of an ex's 14 & threw away after it died. I can't recall the model of it though.
The older ones (maybe the new ones, I don't know) have an internal battery for the alarm which charges from the bike. If it gets too flat it won't recharge so you can't disarm the thing. That's what happened to hers when it was parked up, so I got the soldering iron out & removed the damn thing.

No, it will stay off for about 90 seconds before rearming unless you put into service mode.
Ok, so when it's in service mode will the red indicator light then remain off?
Nearly time for a Bishops Finger! :hat:
Just discovered my mate's brother has a Triumph which shares the same alarm :onya:
So with a bit of discreet riding and social distancing i can get a personal demo from him happy days. :boogie:
I have a Datatool Alarm fitted to my K2, the Fob has two buttons one with a Triangle (left) and one with a Circle (right) the right hand button arms (although the Alarm auto arms 30 secs after the ignition is switched off) and disarms the alarm, when the alarm is armed the LED flashes once every 15 seconds.
Once the Alarm is armed I wait 15 seconds and press the left hand button, there is an audible beep and the bike is then in what I believe is service mode so the bike can be moved, worked on etc etc. In service mode the led only flashes once every 30 seconds rather than once every 15 seconds when fully armed
Like I say my bike is a K2 and the Datatool Alarm fitted is an old version but the button functions may be the same or similar on some newer versions
Hope this helps
Cheers
Pete...
