Title: To buy or not to buy Power Commander
Post by: gmars70970 on Saturday, 25 April 2020, 05:10 PM
At £350 (approx) what real benefits are their from fitting a power commander v ?

I've fitted Delkevic down pipes & collector box with scorpion cans. For peace of mind i had the bike run on the dyno on Thursday to check fuelling etc was ok, could be better but nothing to worry about (Dyno guys words). £36 for the Dyno run 👍

Would you recommend a power commander? Is it really worth the £350 ?

Cheers for any opinions

gmars, looks good to me. No lean running in normal range. Great power reading. Very cheap dyno run, much more around here. Ive never bothered, only the can different. Full Yoshi, cams, exhaust def needed. Personally, IMO i wouldnt worry. Others will have diff ideas. Good lookin bike by the way. 👍

Cheers Grog

Bought the bike in the winter (cheap in my eyes) and replaced a few bits but nothing major.

I'm really not seeing the benefits in spending £350 just now considering it seems to be running ok.

The advice from the guys on here that with just an end can change there was no point. so its sat in my garage (not Froudy's) gathering dust.  :)

Depends how many miles you do and stuff.

I'd expect a PCV & dyno run to set it up to get the air/fuel mixture closer to ideal, not that it's massively far off currently. That'd give you a slightly crisper response & improved MPG. If you ride enough it'll pay for itself, if you're Notty it won't.

I know when I got my 14 yonks ago it had a PC3 with downloaded map & full Akra. A custom dyno map added 4-5bhp but much more importantly it made it smoother & crisper at low to medium revs where I normally ride & gained me 3-4mpg. It's long since paid for itself in my case.

Hooli i've done 700mls in the last 3 weeks & 1200mls from the start of the year so maybe would get the benefit from one 🤔

I know the ECU plug changed at K5, but I think the grey multiplug under the LH side cover (where PC3s plug in) remained unchanged.
