Hi, well I am getting board shirtless now. I have read the forums, read the magazines, watched anything to do with motorcycles that I can find. I have cleaned and polished my 14 to an inch of its life, so what else. Fuxxing EBay has now taken over my biking life. I have bought leather trousers, a really nice leather jacket and some quality gloves. But it is becoming addictive and now I have found another jacket which I really like and am looking at crash helmets as well. Anyone else suffering like this😖 Does anyone actually use more than one set of leathers/protective gear?
Ive a slightly similar problem - I'm selling on eBay and so far since Sunday done £493.00 - since taking up a healthier lifestyle Ive lost a fair amount of weight so sold all my old Levi's and larger shirts and trainers as well as a lot of spare motorbike parts Ive painted and not used - its weird while im selling stuff I tend not to buy as much
And don't drink and go on ebay - I woke up one morning and drunk me had bought sober me a Morris Marina Coupe in shite brown - seller saw the funny side after I paid his fees for messing him about

I won't tell you how many jackets I've bought over time - one for every season and weather type I think :rofl2:
Stoli had a black belt in drunken late night bidding. Think he bought a box or two of bits and a frame to restore.
Anyone in touch with him these days ?
Honda Cub I think it was . . .
I speak to stoli every now end then .
He's going ok and was enjoying his new Africa Twin.
Before the lockdown here .😎
A good friend of mine warned me not to go on ebay while drunk. After retiring he took to having a glass ( bottle) or two of vino in an evening. His wife was getting onto him because he was getting under her feet. She told him to get a hobby. So one night while a lets say in a happy state he decided on a new hobby, he then went on ebay and with a flash of inspiration he bought a full complete Viking battle re enactment costume, complete with Helmet, axe etc. He was a bit surprised a few days later when a big box arrived. He opened it and thought what the f&%k......then he went onto ebay and thought oh shit im not drinking that again.
The funny part was when he scoured the internet to see if there was a Viking battle re enactment group he could join he discovered that there wasn't one within 200 miles of his home.
He didn't stop there.....another night while in a similar state he did it again. Again a few days later he wondered what was going on when a lorry pulled up and was stunned to know he had purchased including delivery a Grey Massey Ferguson tractor. His wife was out at the time and he was worried what she would say. In his words " I knew she had seen it when she came in and shouted ... Owen what the f$%k have you done now"
She has now changed his passwords to ebay and paypal.
Owen has always been a character and he popped down the local shops on his tractor one day dressed as a viking. Believe it or not this is a true story.
Has anyone else bought stupid things from ebay while well oiled.
I banned myself drunk or sober :frustrated: :frustrated:
I don't drink much so no drunken bids.
I do tend to buy a lot of (not necessarily required) stuff though.
Just imagine how much more 'stuff' you could have if you did 'get into it' :onya:

Yep, caught up with him just yesterday. He's an Africa Twin owner now and loving it. Still buying odd boxes of bits though......
Granty, great story. Im E Bay addict but never bought a tractor. I do know a bloke who after a big night out, thought he bought a scale model VW Kombi. Turned out was a full scale in poor condition.
I was on e-bay last week looking at a yam 900 diversion that had a full givi rack system and boxes and I was thinking would it retro fit the 14. I was so tempted but dragged myself away and at 3.30am I decided to go to bed. :coffeescreen:
