With all this sunshine and lockdown I moved the bike from the garage into the garden and left it there for the last 3 days. Each day I cleaned bits in-between my "list"from mrs Notty .
Today thought put it back in the garage until the new chain arrives. Turned the key and nothing !!! thought the worst, what had I knocked when I was cleaning every orofice???? Then the engineer in me said "ALWAYS CHECK THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS" meter showed battery less than 10 volts . It is always been trickle charge in the garage - Bugger :bugga: On charge now but new battery beckons - looked at the forum and thought I would stick with Yuasa YTX14H-BS. :)
Indeed Yuasa is the best bet (not cheap, but still the best).
You need to use your 14 more Notty, probably the battery died from boredom :happy1:

Don't get angry or aggressive with Notty, we wouldn't want you Charged with Battery for the sake of a Battery with Charge!

Hey Notty,
As well as my 1400, I have another bike. Both batteries were on Oxford trickle chargers and it done both batteries in.
Had to get 2 new batteries and I now use CTEK chargers. Time will tell if the CTEK chargers are any better.
1 of my mates had the same issue with the Oxford products.
Good luck, stay safe.
Cheers
Scot

mine is a CTEK as well Scott.. as Dave said it died of boredom !! been lots of debates here re trickle charging - Simon's (speedy1959) bike Sophie lived outside all winter with no trickle without a problem :)
None of my bikes have trickle chargers, you only them if you've got one of those silly alarm things that don't stop your bike getting nicked but do stop you riding it when they ruin the battery.
Jeez Hooli you will be in a great position when when the world runs short of dead batteries.......... or do they belong to your girlfriend :whistling:
Watched above test on batteries. Very good info. All i know is Lithium in Diavel could sit 3 months and start it perfectly. It had built in alarm system. AGM in 14 would be way flat in that time, no alarm. I know what ill buy next time.
