I found this changing the oil. It's rubber or hard plastic dies anyone know what it us please. Thankyou
Looks like a grommet of some sort... kinda difficult to tell as it looks pretty chewed up. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a better idea tho.... :onya:
Have you had any covers off recently?
not sure of the diameter of the coin but to me it resembles ong one of the rocker cover bolt gaskets

I thought so to but it's nothing like it when you compare the two.
The only parts internally that are black plastic are the cam guides as far as I can remember, however they don't really anything like that, my guess is its something thats dropped in when someone had had the camcover off.
That looks like a seal from the sump, either the oil-valve assy, or the oil outlet by the strainer.
I think I'd drop the sump & take a peek, just to be on the safe side.

From memory when I dropped my sump it was just an "O" ring on the oil pressure tube, a gasket on the pickup strainer assy and the copper seal?
Thanks every one it just has me at a dead end
Could it be one of the 8 seals from under the top camcover bolts?
Dale & I took the cam cover off today thinking the previous owner might have cocked up the gasket ... all good there. Next is sump removal where hopefully the culprit will be found.
