I've given up riding the dirt but thought I'd post a few pictures of what we used to do in the interior of southern BC.
When I look at these shots I want to go back but it hurts too much when you fall off! Ahh Age!
This was on a 300 kms ride along the Kettle Valley Railway but to get to the start point - well one of them - its was a trip over a mountain. The railway is disused and open to the public for cycling etc. It was weird blasting along without fear of meeting a sharp bend - the only obstacles were others on the track!!
