People are stupid.
Went shopping yesterday. ALL the soap was gone. For chrissakes you need some soap not litres / kilos of the stuff.
The baked beans shelves were empty - I wonder if this is contributing to the now common sight of vacant toilet paper shelves?
Bread? Well all the crappy factory stuff was gone but there was HEAPS of fresh bread available. :onya:
Saw one bloke with a trolley stacked high with 3 litre milks. I counted them. 18. So he bought 54 litres of 'fresh' milk. :jack:
Does he not realise that it has a shelf life? :whatever:
Sheeple mate, just madness.

One of my fears came true when they closed the border to Luxembourg on Monday. As the weather was nice, I rode into Netherlands and Belgium before they close the border there too. No coffee sipping as all locked down. Yesterday they said that our borders to the Netherlands and Belgium will not be restricted as our lives here are strongly intertwined. Measures against the virus are very similar and communicated among the authorities.
BUT in Italy you are not allowed to ride the bike (or anything else) for pleasure. Only essential movement allowed there. Who knows when this rule will come here too.
As the weather is nice today and tomorrow I will be :riding: Friday temperature will dip. Hope we are still allowed to ride for pleasure when the temps go up again. Glad I am able to play on the roads and that I am not a little kid anymore as the playgrounds here are locked down.
Does anyone have the recipe for the toilet paper and pasta dish everyone is stocking up on, cant find it anywhere on the interweb.
.
There is an up-side, The Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled :boogie: Unfortunately so has the NW200 I was supposed to be going to in May :cry2:
I would love to know why the sheeple are taking all the toilet paper and pasta, too. None of this nor chicken in our local supermarkets. Perhaps this is another secret ingredient!
A friend of my wife's told her of a woman in our local Asda who was stacked up with toilet paper in her trolley and when told by an employee that they were only allowing two packs per customer the woman stated she was taking them "and what are you going to fucking do about it" Personally I would have barred her from the shop and told her to leave the store - without any of the goods in her trolley. People like this are selfish bastards imo :furious:
According to my doctor it should be ok for me to ignore social distancing on Saturdays and Sundays.
He said I have a weekend immune system.
:rofl2:
More madness, :whatever: only in America.

No eggs in any supermarket ?? FFS why? is it part of the pasta/toilet roll recipe? the little cluckers will still be laying and its not as though you can store them for that long? 3 weeks or so? Clucking Hell :bugga:

Someone has shelled out for a fowl amount of stockpiling.
Off to stock up on petrol. Dont want to run out of gas while l'm out self isolating :onya:
Warbirds Airshow has been cancelled...... so could finish up at th mother in laws for Easter....... not quite as exciting !!
So you not heading south now Col?
It is still my intention Col. Ferry wont refund fare. So thats my argument with head office......why waste a ferry crossing that l've already paid for. :onya:
Suppose it also depends on what Cindles decides.
It seems like the entire supermarket supply chain must have imploded, despite repeated `official` rumours that its fine......
....our local Sainsburys superstore began its new opening hours today. 07.00 for the over `70`s and less fortunate. At 07.10 a local news reporter interviewed an old guy returning to his car clutching a pack of toilet rolls. He assured the reporter that he`d just managed to grab the very last couple of rolls, WTF!!! No hope for the rest of us then.
Its looking likely to me that we`ll be getting the Karcher out this weekend :happy1:
Yeah well the local Coles here opened early the other day for the oldies - but hadn't stocked the shelves yet (truck hadn't come yet) so nothing for them to buy.
Bought 4 rolls of kitchen towels. Good value too, a corner of a square per day should last ages.
Indian, prunes and baked beans are off the menu
We make toilet paper in NZ, we're not about to run out, but where's the supply? :whatever:
Maybe the manufacturers have taken a leaf out of the Petrol station handbook & are now going to artificially create a shortage to get higher prices.
It'd be a bugger if we all ended up walking round with daggs! :happy1:
Dags
What about seepage :cry2:

Well back to a slightly more serious note
I work in the nhs in Scotland repairing/modifying wheelchairs and as some of you know I have diabetes since 2017 so am in this group of people over here with underlining health issues .
I was still working but not aloud to see patients untill today when I was told not to come to work next week for minimum of 2 weeks but more likely 3 months or more .
Things are changing fast over here .
Hope you all stay safe .
I hope you will come out of this ok.
Yep! Its getting serious here in Britain. The food stock pile brigade have finally reached rock bottom as even the Vegan crap has gone off the shelves. Now you got to be serious to want to eat that crap.
Nicola Sturgeon has appeared on the telly saying we should work together. So much for her usual "freedom" war cry.
Even the DIY stores are selling out and it looks like all those jobs we keep promising to do are now in danger of getting done.
But on a serious note it looks like most of the country has gone selfish and doesn't give a flying f$%k about anyone else. No Dunkirk spirit in Britain anymore. Its sad that some people have sunk so low.
I really don't understand some of these folks in the UK... Some of you know Im a Scot living in Austria and I love my home country dearly, but it seems to me they've been walking around oblivious to what's been going on outside their own little world until very very recently. Now I get the feeling panic is setting in simply because the UK government has until very recently been in some sort of thinking they can control this. Well....sorry but you are too late! The genie is out of the bottle...the horse has bolted...that ship has sailed etc... "The tide will turn in eight weeks"???? Sorry Boris... I have a feeling your credibility has already been flushed down the pan, probably with half the toilet paper that's gone missing in the UK!
If I look at what's happening in Austria (and here we have had high restrictions on movement for the last 10 days!) I have seen no evidence of people behaving badly, selfishly or in any way that does not support the community as a whole. There is no shortage of anything in the shops (apart from hand sanitizer) - communities are working together to ensure that those really in need are supported. That is the way it should be.....everywhere.
Sorry for the rant... Ive been in home office confinement for 2 weeks now...maybe going a bit stir crazy! I would get the 14 out if I could... maybe in a few weeks time - one can only hope. Stay safe everyone!
Nice post ARH. :onya: Sounds like Austria / Vienna is a very nice place to live. Decent people with a caring community sprit. :clapping:
NZ as a whole used to be like that a few years ago & the smaller places still are, but the influences of other cities outside NZ & media (TV, internet - faceache etc) have swayed people here into thinking there's going to be a shortage on items & there's mass shopping being done for no reason which is creating shortages. If they just brought normally, things would be fine.
The shelves are empty where bread used to be, tissues, hand sanitizer, the flour is gone? WTF? is everybody suddenly going to turn into Betty Crocker or something? Lots of people here are hoarding stuff & it's just madness. The toilet paper is made here, the bread is made here, the flour is grown & milled here.
I really do hope this isn't going to be a new normal for us & also the rest of the world. Greedy, pushy me first & damn you attitude. Why would you want to be part of that? May be heading to small town NZ in the future, where I started & think that'll be where I finish up.
HI ALL
I am totally ashamed of the behaviour of the uk in as much as we had to be first to fight and say well I am going to the pub I don't care. I get that small business need the support to get through this but we don't have to shame our self to be the one that can't behave its always the same we have to be first to shame one selves And in front of the whole world just do as your told and take it on the chin I work in the prison and I will work or do as they say to get this sorted and guys I don't mean anyone on here in this its the wankers out there That spoil it for the rest of the decent people of the uk
Well I've just heard on the radio they've told all pubs, bars, cafes, clubs, etc etc to shut until further notice. Fucking stupid over raction to the sodding flu, it's not the black death ffs.
Glad I was out on the bike all day, sounds like the last chance for a while.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51981653
Linky for those that want to read the latest overreaction.
.
It is neither the flu nor is it the black death! It is in between. Much more contagious than the flu and more deadly. If you don't take strict measures the health care system will be overwhelmed. In particular the intensive care units will not be able to handle all the cases needing treatment with ventilators. In Italy they have this situation. Not only the ventilator spots are sparse. Yesterday the military there had to pitch in with 70 trucks to transport the deceased to crematoriums outside of a certain province. The local crematorium couldn't keep up anymore.
The world and national economies will be hard hit due to the measures taken. "Hard hit" is likely an understatement. I hope that all governments will let the cash rain so their people get through this crisis. I wouldn't be surprised if a great many countries will increase spending so much to support the unemployed and failed businesses during this time that they go bankrupt. It is a bad thing for one country to go bankrupt BUT lets say the G20 (+) go bankrupt at the same time it's not that bad. All can start over debt-free.
I am also glad that I had a few good rides these days. Looks like the last ones for a while. Each ride I came across a bike accident. I hope these guys will be alright. They certainly will get the needed care in the hospitals. I am not certain that they would get the level of care a few weeks later on.
I went out and stocked up on cat food yesterday. Not many shelves empty, tinned soup, some bread, hand sanitiser, still plenty of bog rolls. Filled the ute up with diesel and got some petrol as back up incase l need to go for more rides to maintain my sanity.
Now you know how mice feel......
That is a ripper Col. Did you see pic of semi trailer, one toilet roll all ratchet strapped down. Also good.
We do most of our shopping split between Aldi and Lidl, yesterday I went out on the bike to collect some odds and sods and have a bit of a ride out. Aldi had plenty of stock, even bog roll. The only things in short supply was hand sanitiser and paracetamol so I was able to get all the things I wanted with only a long wait to get to the tills. When I got to lidl it looked as though locusts had been through and stripped the place, no bread, bog roll, soap, pasta, milk and most shelves were empty. I had to go back to Aldi just to get a loaf of bread, I even bought some bog roll which I didn't need but didn't want to miss out for when I find the pasta and bog roll recipe. Has the whole country gone mad
Here Aldi cooperates with McDonalds by temporarily employing the fast food workers in their stores. A win-win situation. Maybe that's why they are keeping up restocking the shelves in your place as well.

Stolen from another group...
The self isolation scooter/motorbike rally.....
Due to the cancellations of scooter/bike runs and rally's I've figured out how you can still enjoy a good rally on your own😀👍.....
1, late on a Friday (or any day you fancy😉), pack your camping gear and weekend supplies onto your scooter, and try to forget something you really need.
2, set off and travel for a while then head back home, if you're riding a lambretta/(insert least favourite motorbike) try to have a couple of breakdowns on your short trip, that won't be too difficult🙄.
3, when you get home find the muddiest part of your garden and set up camp, try to wait until it's raining if you can😉.
4, go into the house and open all the windows then put your best Ska, Mod, Northern Soul tape on and play it at full volume.
5, Stand in the garden (if you're lucky it will still be raining) and listen to the music while chain smoking and drinking a warm can of lager/beer.
6, drink as much as required until you think you can dance like Ace in Quadraphinia/David Lee roth, once tired retire to your damp sleeping bag.
7, option one,,, get up at 6am (still pissed) because you couldn't get to sleep and drink tea/coffee until about 12 mid day🙄.
Option two,,,, wake up at about mid day (feeling like shit) and start drinking lager/beer again😉.
8, later in the afternoon wonder about the garden, remembering to chain smoke and down beers until you feel yourself again. Now is a good time to award yourself the furthest travelled prize and best scooter/motorbike😀👍. Celibate with a few beers and take some pics of your scooter/motorbike and yourself dancing with a can in your hand.
9, eat some really cheap burgers (wash down with beer/lager) then repeat stage 6 again.
10, oversleep in the morning, then bundle your muddy wet camp gear onto the scoot and set off for a short run out . When heading back for home have a complete mechanical breakdown, or a puncture, or at least try to get lost😉.
11, once home, dump the scooter/motorbike and dirty wet camp gear in the shed/garage with the intention of sorting it all later.
12, Settle down indoors on your favourite seat in the warmth and comfort then fall asleep. Later that evening post pictures you took on Facebook.
13, repeat every second or third weekend until about October.
2020 is sorted😉👍😂
Seriously folks look after yourselves.
.
You could just stop next to the van and start coughing and croaking at him to help you, that should have him moving off at high speed
Just been to Tesco. Not much social distancing there. The government will have to close them!!! ;)
Only a quarter of beers and lagers left on the shelves and a half of wines and spirits.
We're aw doomed a tell ye, doomed !!!
.
My neighbour works on the CT scanner at the largest hospital in Wales. We have all read about the selfish bastards clearing the shelves. This morning Tesco was open an hour early for those in the NHS and the others who are keeping us safe. When she went in the staff were stood clapping them in - How wonderful :notworthy: :notworthy:
Well I drove through Matlock Bath in Derbyshire, a well known favourite spot for bikers to gather yesterday, and saw hundreds of bikes parked up as if it was a normal weekend with the riders all milling around together chatting, drinking etc. :furious:
Fucking unbelievable. All obviously fully paid up members of the "it'll never happen to me" brigade.
Mind you they weren't the only ones, families were out together too, enjoying the weather as if no health crisis was affecting the world. Cretins.
Apparently it was the same there today as well.
Stay safe everyone, although it won't be easy with pillocks like this in society. Same ones who're stripping the shelves first thing in the morning no doubt.
Rant over
Thats heart warming to hear Notty nice little story. :worshippy:
Almost all travel to any Scottish island is now off, the ferries are only taking locals, deliveries etc over. No tourists etc.
It's getting rather silly, but I can't say I don't wish I was out there watching this idiocy from afar.

We have similar problems in North Wales the Cars & Caravans were flocking in yesterday as if life was normal, Carparks up in and around Snowdonia were packed with people walking the hills & villages. I think if this carries on then Boris will have no option other than to put us all on a mandatory lock-down sadly
People are dicks.
I reckon we are one 4G mobile network failure away from anarchy. ::)
They've just closed all clubs pubs cinemas gyms etc here too.
Cafes etc restricted to take away only.
At moment we can still go motorcycling but whether we'd be able to get anything to eat and a coffee is a question.
They've also 'closed' the borders between certain states though there's no constitutional basis to do so. In facrlt, it's more a case of enforcing 14 day isolation for arrivals. Naturally there needs to be movement for trucks etc. Not too mention here in QLD there are plenty of people live in southern qld and work in northern NSW and vice versa.
My main concern is I hope my broadband install goes ahead on Friday coz our shitty Internet can't deal with me and the missus streaming at the same time.
First World problems.
Lockdown for us from tomorrow.
I hope they get the army to assist with security and prevent the looting of unattened business premises. I am very concerned for law and order.
Got a few projects and some work to finish so should not get bored.
Yeah Col, law n order gonna be a big prob. My world sure changed today. Wont elaborate as others much worse off than me. End result will be rich will get richer, others will just fall. Very sad days. My plan was always to get ST1 cams, Yoshi full exhaust, PC and tune. Now maybe new bar grips. Thats just life. As an extra, anyone on this site feeling a bit low because of this shit, feel free to talk. Please do, sometimes help can come from even a motor bike site. Good people on here. 👏
Unfortunately, this affects us ALL, even though we are retired & financially OK, owe nothing, large garden to 'self-isolate' in, all our plans are also stuffed, been getting the new ( to us ) motorhome prepared all winter ready to travel the UK again.
But since its 'all ready' I might go live in it for a few days on the drive & pretend to be someplace else!!
Can some of you guys in Oz or NZ send me some large scenery piccies that I can rig up on a tripod outside so we have a nice view to wake up to.
On a much more serious note, this has/is a gigantic wakeup call for the whole planet, & I fear that a large number of businesses will go under & I wonder where we will be in a years time.
I wish you all good luck & hope we all get through this.
Am I being unreasonable?
I need to get something off my chest so I thought in the light of the Coronavirus problems I would ask you...
A couple of years ago I bought a holiday chalet down in Devon. It's nothing special, all very low budget but it means the world to me and the wife. Earlier in the month we noticed we had a little damp issue and last weekend set about tackling it. We found that it was a bigger job than we had bargained for and yesterday afternoon I was forced to retreat as I had to go back to work and also needed to pick up more tools and materials. I'd resolved to take this Thursday and Friday off to go back and deal with it and as a result we left the water turned on and the fridge switched on with a little food still in it.
There has been a lot of rumblings of discontent over the last couple of days about people going off to holiday homes to self-isolate etc. and that this is not Essential Travel. I fear that in half an hour's time BoJo is going to further restrict activity and general movement in the country.
I'm still minded to travel down on Wednesday night. I'm not going for a holiday, I'm going to deal with a damp issue that will cause damage if left untreated, turn off my electricity and water before I leave (for who knows how long) and generally protect my property.
My wife and I are sharing a home together, the two of us will be alone in the car together – we can take a flask if we want to break the journey on a service area car park – and the two of us will be alone together working to sort out. I can't see that I am being a threat to anyone.
Perhaps I have got it all wrong?
I am a single man with toilet rolls would like to meet a female with hand sanitizer..... for good clean fun!🙄
Its great to hear and see all the jokes doing the rounds, but in all honesty, we`re getting a bit p1ssed off with the whole virus thing already.
Recent downsides include not getting to see Mum yesterday, not getting to see my 90yr old step-dad in hospital last week (non-virus related, just bad luck), and my wifes forthcoming 60th is likely to be `cancelled`to all intents and purposes! Bugger it. To top it all, we`ve booked and paid for our holiday trip to Bermuda to incorporate seeing family which is a bi-annual thing, and there`s little hope of that happening now! In fact theres little hope of going anywhere in the near future. And I hate to see my wife so stressed every day - yep, you`ve guessed it, she works for the NHS, and i`m so bloody proud of her and her colleagues.
So its really a case of making the most of where we are all at.
We decided to go for a run on the `14 yesterday, only an hour round the coast and back, didn`t stop, but boy, was it good to get out on the bike again! I`m going fishing Wednesday, another passion of mine, (in total isolation I might add!!), and i`ll be getting on with some decorating over the coming days/weeks. I guess its all about making the most of time around the house & garden.
I`m kind of thinking that if total isolation from here on in is the best way to get rid of this thing, then bring it on. Lets get it over with so we can begin to rebuild `normality` again.....regardless of how long that takes and in what guise it takes.
One things for sure, we simply can`t continue like we are presently.
Good luck and nothing but the best to all you great guys out there, wherever you may be.

Nope, I don't believe you've got it wrong Pete. You're not going to be in contact with others so logic & sense should prevail. Go fix your place Pete, then if you're pulled up, tell 'em you're heading home.
From what I can work out, people need to isolate themselves from others to stop the transmission of the virus, now from my perspective, I'm completely isolated inside a car that's driving along. The problem the authorities would see with that is, us sheeple moving around (even in enclosed spaces - car) increases the
chance of us interacting with someone else, hence they don't want us on the road. I reckon if you keep away from others, as in going for a walk or run is permitted, you should be allowed to do it.
Rynglieder,
Shame you`ve got no-one down in Devon who can access your chalet and deal with the water & fridge for you. The damp will keep, especially as we`re heading towards drier, warmer weather.
However, i`m thinking that at this point in time you`d be fine going, provided you do as you describe in relation to keeping yourselves to yourselves. I`d be a bit nervous about leaving it until Thursday though.....i`m guessing UK lock-down isn`t gonna be too far away. The other potential problem of course is that if your chalet is on a managed holiday type site you may find that you may not be able to access it much longer until this virus issue gets resolved. Many holiday establishments are locking down.....

I would suggest after the announcements by Boris today that its too late as lock down is now in place, at least for the next 3 weeks.
We're on lock down too - as of Midnight tomorrow. They say 4 weeks minimum for us, think it'll probably go for 5-6 myself, so, 3 weeks with a population of the UK, I think he'd be being very optimistic at 3 weeks. You'd better bargin on 4-5 at least I'd say.
Went to order some parts from Toyota for a job l intend to do over the coming weeks. They told me no parts unless you pay for them first. All trade accounts have been suspended. They said they believe a lot of businesses will fold. Thats one job l wont be doing anytime soon. If l pay for all the parts myself l wonder when the insurance company might pay me ?
Where you self isolating Col, Crayfish City or ChCh :whistling:
At home mate, while is nice at the 5th wheeler, home definitely has more room & a super king bed & a few freezers full of fish & steak.
Luxury Col. Freezers full, well done. Mate in Tassie today said $120 crays were sold at $50. I cant believe those prices. Reckon were in for full lockdown soon. My work usually has 70 to 80 jobs booked into workshop, 2 for next week.Heard today mobile phone service cant cope, so many working from home will overload it. Imagine if the Net fails, chaos.
I'm in two minds about all the kerfuffle over Covid-19. I'm in an essential service job so get to keep working. I have my 85 yo Dad and 80yo Mum to look after as well, so far they are limiting their shopping centre time and no visits to the club to play the pokies.
There is so much fake news going around also. Social media are mindless morons hoarding anything mentioned on Farcebook etc.
I can only hope it blows over fairly quickly. Australia has had 8 deaths todate so fingers crossed. :confused1: :confused1:
Mrs Notty has chronic lung disease so we have been self isolating for 5 days - FFS another 85 or more to go !! worst thing is not seeing our baby ( ok she is 46 ). She dropped some bread off this morning and left it on the garden wall and we chatted some 3 metres apart. Neighbours are all offering to help. Went out for a walk this morning, roads are deserted. I so want to get out on the 14 as its the first real sun in 6 months - what harm would it do? just me and my head in my helmet all alone......guess gardening and paining for the next 6 months .... :bugga:
Tortoises are awake after hibernation - they are up around a month early because its been so mild - last 40 years always end of April bloody global warming, blody corona virus - rant over :)
I tried really hard to follow the governments advice and made sure I kept my social distancing to over 6 foot by riding out to the Brecon beacons, never came within 6 foot of anyone except the garage when I bought petrol but then was a pane of glass between us. Last night the UK was put on lockdown with it seems the the exception of Londoners and the tube. Muppets. If they actively contribute to their own illness should we (the tax payer) pay to have them cured :whistling:
.
You will not be alone Notty if its anything like here. The mobile portrait photographers are out in force as are speedo calibration and certification department...... always keeping you safer on our roads :whatever:
It is surprising that the politicians after telling us porkies day after day, year after year, never answering a straight question now expect us to hang on their every word.
Wonder if they ever heard of " the boy who cried wolf " now wondering why some people don't comply.
The wife and l both have parents living alone. My dad is 86 and looks after himself pretty well. My mother in law is in her late 70's with memory loss living alone, now with no license. Wife is fretting not knowing what to do, her mum lives 4 hours away. Am sure we are not alone in worrying about our parents in these times.
Still the up side to this virus is that divorce lawyers should see a huge increase in business over the next wee while
No excuse now for  not having the bike shining like a jewel
Keep safe lads.

Mowed the grass and mower packed up and stores closed !!! planted some flowers and washed and waxed the car :)
I brought a couple of tins of cut n polish to give the boat a birthday. (Painted aluminium)
Day 2 of laying up, 28 more to go, at least. I had to knock off a bit earlier than most others as I'm what they call 'imunocompromised'. It's more likely to give me a harder time if I get it, so best stay out of the way. Lucky I have a stock of Steiny to keep me good for a while.

As long as you are prepared for the warm reception you will get from the locals. There is a backlash of people not wanting outsiders cluttering up their hospitals and potentially using up resources which could benefit locals. Scotland, Wales, Devon and Cornwall have signs up telling outsiders to fuck off. This has the potential of getting violent (as it did in Scotland and wales a good few years ago) with holiday homes getting torched. Personally I would accept the contents of the fridge are lost and the water will not freeze until it's safe to travel, sorry if that's not what you want to hear but it's my view on what's happening now. Remember people are mostly arseholes.
You have to laugh, people's reactions to what is going on. My home is on a corner and yesterday I observed more people out running on the first day of " Lock down " than I have seen ever in weeks passing by. By the look of most of them they have panic bought all new Lycra and new trainers. They are all obviously taking the one period of exercise literally. So many people went past sounding like Darth Vader having an asthma attack many with kids following them on cycles shouting come on you can do it.
Now I'm not Knocking their efforts to get fit but surely all the fat wobbly people suddenly getting their hearts pumping is putting the already overstretched NHS at a great risk of having to deal with all the heart attacks.
However today the second day of lock down there are not many out. Just the regulars. Either there has been a lot have heart attacks or they have woke up with sore legs and have thought they would go back to their normal activity of eating all the processed food they have stock piled and watch a box set. The kids at home don't seem to be "doing their head in as much today"
Stay safe everyone.

@mjgt, The point you are making was in my sights already. I have to say it feels like a bit of NIMBYism, especially as I pay full whack council tax down there on my glorified shed. In fact I'm charged more for that two bedroom chalet than my four bedroom house in the West Midlands and I have hardly any pull on the facilities down there – Unless something happens in total defiance of nature I'll never be putting children through schools, and I'll never bother the local registrar as the wife would almost certainly just shove my body in the boot and bury me at home in the back garden to keep the costs down and her roses up. As is often the case people are happy for "outsiders" to subsidise the local population and expect to give you very little back.
I am lead to believe that some towns in Cornwall (for example) claim their population doubles in the height of the tourist season. Well, if they can't handle what would be a comparative handful of "second home" owners it suggests that they can be in no way prepared to serve the huge influx of summer tourists. The implication is that it is a bloody dangerous place to go on holiday and people should seriously consider Columbia or Somalia instead.
Anyway... As well as the things I already mentioned, all of my tools were down there which would leave me stuck if we hit a problem at home during lock-down (the wife would have simply nothing to repair anything with) and I also remembered that my DSLR camera and lenses hadn't been brought back which was now also bothering me.
Having realised that the police don't actually have any power of enforcement until tomorrow (Thursday) I decided it was now or never for today. My reasoning was that the worst that could happen would be someone standing 2m away saying " 'Allo, 'allo, 'allo, what's going on here then?" to which I would naturally reply "Cor blimey guv, you've got me banged to rights and no mistake" and that would be the end of it.
I did the run as I intended, straight through without stopping and engaged with no one except the site manager at a comfortable 5m distance. Whilst I'm gutted that I have not been able to finish my project at least I have my things back around me at home, nothing rotting in the fridge and the place is secure. (And I can take now photos as well, as long as they are of my house or garden).
During my 400 mile round trip I think I may have caught sight of a road block at the top of one of the exit slips near Taunton, but I never encountered anything directly. The motorway was busy with HGVs which seemed to be enjoying the clearer than usual roads, but I was by no means the only private car out today. Ironically a friend / neighbour took a walk down to the local pharmacy to pick up an inhaler this afternoon and had his motives questioned by officers of the law who were presumably checking for people who had illegally and maliciously walked their dog twice in a day.
Going back to the Second Homes thing, I heard on the radio during my drive back that Prince Charles had been diagnosed with a Coronavirus at his home in Scotland. Now, we all know his main home is Highgrove in Gloucestershire, so I am pretty confident that he is likely to be pulled in for questioning by the Highland Constabulary tomorrow. When this happens my faith in the fact that we are all equal in this great country will be assured.
Stay safe.
Pete.
Is it just me, or does this lockdown feel to others too, like a freaking public holiday? I`ve never seen so many people walking, jogging and cycling around as I have during this last 48hrs.
Maybe the springlike weather hasn`t helped Boris`s call, but even so, i`m kinda thinking that when the government said its ok to take excercise once a day, surely they didn`t mean ALL day?
As I spent time gardening this morning, I couldn`t help but notice a family group of four people yomping across the fields to the front of our property, two of whom were wearing backpacks for chrissakes! Clearly out for the day. Bollocks to everyone else. Morons :furious:
It now time for the authorities to get a grip, or we`ll be under `lock & key` for the rest of the year......and I can`t begin to comprehend an entire summer without getting out on the bike!
No idea what you're on about with this exercise lark but I've just serviced my push bike to cycle to work tomorrow
We're not even considering homeworking till tuesday, got too much to build/setup/fix/configure so everyone else can do it first.
Today at beach, 10 people sitting at 8 seater table. Sharing finger food. Some very smart people in my country. Im a proud Aussie but sometimes wonder why.
🆘 CITIZENS ALERT 🆘
*AN EXCELLENT SUMMARY ON THE CORONAVIRUS.*
From an Asst. Prof. in Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University.
It is quite informative,
and is an excellent summary as to how to avoid the contagion, and
it is very clear and easy to follow.
*The virus is not a living organism,* but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat) which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes its genetic code (mutation) and converts into aggressor and multiplier cells.
*Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed,* but decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.
*The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat.
That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam CUTS the FAT (that is why you have to rub so much, for 20 seconds or more, to make a lot of foam)
By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own.
*HEAT melts fat; this is why it is so good to use water above 25 degrees Celsius for washing hands, clothes and everything.
In addition, hot water makes more foam and that makes it even more useful.
*Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ANY FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.
*Any mix with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein, and breaks it down from the inside.
*Oxygenated water helps long after soap, alcohol and chlorine, because peroxide dissolves the virus protein, but you have to use it pure and it hurts your skin.
*NO BACTERICIDE SERVES. The virus is not a living organism like bacteria; *you cannot kill what is not alive with antibiotics.*
*NEVER shake used or unused clothing, sheets or cloth.
While it is glued to a porous surface, it is very inert and disintegrates only between 3 hours (fabric and porous) 4 hours (copper, because it is naturally antiseptic) and wood (because it removes all the moisture and does not let it peel off)
24 hours (cardboard) 42 hours (metal) and 72 hours (plastic)
But if you shake it or use a feather duster, the virus molecules float in the air for up to 3 hours, and can lodge in your nose.
*The virus molecules remain very stable in external cold, or artificial cold such as air conditioners in houses and cars. They also need moisture to stay stable, and also darkness. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade it faster.
*UV LIGHT on any object that may contain it breaks down the virus protein.
For example, to disinfect and reuse a mask, UV LIGHT is perfect. But be careful, because it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin, eventually causing wrinkles and skin cancer.
*The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.
*Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.
*NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA, serves.
The strongest vodka is 40% alcohol, and you need 65%.
*LISTERINE SERVES. It is 65% alcohol.
*The more confined the space, the more the concentration of the virus will be. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.
N.B. In addition to the above, you have to wash your hands before and after touching mucosa, food, locks, knobs, switches, remote control, cell phone, watches, computers, desks, TV, etc.
And when using the bathroom,
you have to HUMIDIFY HANDS DRY from so much washing of them, because the molecules can hide in the micro cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better.
*Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide below them.
PLEASE SHARE WIDELY AND KINDLY, MUCH THANKS. 🆘🆘🆘

Good on you Basil. We've not seen our youngest daughter since the New Year and looks like a planned visit for May is not going to happen. It was the eldest grandson's 7th birthday last week and we had to wish him happy birthday over technology - they only live about three miles away. It started out like that here Grog, that we would be able to go for drive & go to the beach n stuff, just don't interact with others & keep 2m apart. Not now. Once the lock down came, that all changed & not allowed to go anywhere. The reasons they give are if you breakdown or have an accident, others have to come help you - putting them at risk. Load of shite, but that's the way it goes. I'd be surprised if it's different for you guys.

A bunch of us tended to meet there & then head out to a 4x4 site in the Black Mountains a couple of times a year.
On Saturday 28 bikers who congregated outside at a closed biker place were fined.
An idiot (non-biker) who had been fined twice before was taken to jail. Looks like he will stay there until the restrictions are loosened. That's at least another 3 weeks.
Someone who didn't stand a million miles away from other people in a shop queue has been fined £625 in Stalybridge.
Minimum fine here is 200€, Maximum 25000€. If you know you are infected and break isolation up to 5 years jail.
Gentlemen....... am curious to know.
Does anyone know of anyone that has been confirmed to have the Corona Virus ?
Col, unfortunately yes. Wish i could tell the story but cant. A work situation. Now starting my forced month holiday.
Unfortunately my mate Steve Wife has it. Jo has been very ill but is now slowly recovering at home. She says the worst part has been the muscle pain and that she feels drained of all energy. She was not admitted to hospital. They are both confined to the house but have to live in different parts of it. They are not allowed to be in the same room. Steve has shown no signs of it so it shows that keeping two meters apart and social distancing works.
Lets hope we all get through this. Stay safe.
Yes, a fit 60 year old. Last I heard he was getting ready to come off the ventilator.
I don't have personal knowledge of anyone either. My brother, however, is 71, lives in Spain and has copd - so am quite worried about him even though he hasn't been out for three weeks.
Hope all on here and Your families keep safe
My youngest sister has had it , she is fully recovered from it now. She told us (FaceTime) that the worst thing was the cough it felt like someone was using a blunt saw on her neck. My mum is 79 and has been self isolating for the past two weeks now, she is still free from the virus we are all running around for her for whatever she needs. A suspected Covid-19 male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. A young student female nurse appears and gives him a partial sponge bath.
"Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?"
Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet."
He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check for me. Are my testicles black?"
Concerned that he might elevate his blood pressure and heart rate from worrying about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment and
pulls back the covers.
She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles gently in the other.
She looks very closely and says, "There's nothing wrong with them, Sir. They look fine."
The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her, and says very slowly,
"Thank you very much. That was wonderful. Now listen very,

Excellent Lawrie. Strangely enough, last week i was looking at waves rolling in at beach. I thought then, my life has really changed, not so the waves.
Just 3D printed a trial face-mask, might need it soon!
Nice, but it is a face-shield - not a mask. Will help if someone spits/coughs directly at you but without an additional appropriate mask (N95, FFP2 or higher) you are likely to catch the virus anyway.
Even if you have ALL the proper personal protection gear you also have to know how to handle it properly. Even a mask can be a viral spreader (to you and others)!
Best measure is total self-isolation!
Yes Andre, you are correct of course, a typo my end! we both have 'masks' as well.
And yes again, I'm not going out at all if I can help it.
Thanks.
Lawrie,
Nice job, but save it for when you go strimming after this is all over. In the meantime, stay home and safe .

Hi all. Portugal has been struck as any other country in europe. We have been advised to stay at home. Some services still work food supply and pharmacy, restaurants only serve take-way. We can walk ourselves and our pets. We cannot leave the county unless you have some one to assist. Easter holydays will be even tighter.
The thing that bothers me the most is that when hell broke loose in china, the rest of the world just stood still and watched. Health experts assured us that there was no cause for alarm and that this virus had nothing with SARS and crap like that! Now those exact same people are telling us what we should or not do. I do not trust what is shown on the TV.
My brother lives in brussels and has been infected. Thankfully he did not need breading support and is recovering fast.
People are still getting infected everywhere. Make sure you ain't giving or catching.
The human race is very resilient. This won't kill us all, but it will leave a mark.

Hesitation......(theres my answer) "errr no had to go to a friends and fix her computer, but its ok she's in my bubble". "How dare you compromise the health of my wife and l". (l'm sounding like Greta now) why is it that people don't get it. If she pulls that stunt again she can sod off and go live with one of her bubble friends she's got a couple.
Thank you group..... Rant over but l'm still fuming.
:furious:
I feel for you there Col, stuck between a rock n a hard place. She was being very inconsiderate of your hospitality, you'd have to be asking yourselves do we really need such a 'friend' in our lives, let alone living with us.
You're more understanding than me, in circumstances like we have today she wouldn't get a second chance. Obviously no thought for you and Mrs K's well-being. Not surprised your fuming
Had a talk with someone today at 2 meters distance. He started to cough at me repeatedly. I went into Greta mode. Got him to finally cover one of the many coughs with his fist. After a few minutes he did an extensive repeat. I told him that before the virus this was already considered bad manners and left him. Oh well, one more on my shit list.
What really gets me are the conspiracy types. One of my sisters belongs to these. Oh well, she lives in her own reality anyhow. What broke the last straw yesterday was when she told me that she never had an oil change done on any of her cars. Not a problem for her as our dad buys her a new one. Maybe not though in the future as I told him about the never-ever-oil-changes.
Andre, I thought they got rid of 'Mad Cow' disease.
Listening to a farming show on the radio this morning, they said there has been two suicides recently which they say are due to the financial pressure caused by the virus lockdown.
Yesterday a 92 year old rest home resident with underlying health issues died of the corona virus. At that age somethings gonna get you, but its reported in every news bulletin.
Unfortunately l can see more deaths along the lines of the first instance exceeding the latter.
Suicides in NZ are nearly double that of the road toll yet rarely get a mention.
New Zealands dark secret. Their pain is over. Rest easy.

Another "secret" are hospital acquired infections. About 10-20k annual death due to them in Germany. Road death toll is 3k.
A pathologist said that he has yet to see a death from corona virus in a person without pre-existing health problems, even in people who by outward appearance seem healthy.
If we hadn't taken drastic measures to reign in the virus spread our health care system, despite its high level, would have likely collapsed as it did in some of the countries around us. If we ease up on the measures to much we will likely see a massive increase. On the other hand the economy will take an even harder hit when we keep the measures up. Will take a great deal of juggling skills to find an appropriate balance.
The economic downturn will very likely cause huge suffering and death world wide. Might well be that the death toll will exceed that of the virus by far.
Loose loose situation, I would hate to be making the decisions, unfortunately someone has to, and we have to hope it's the correct ones
Hey question for you Aussie blokes.

It's always been for as long as I can remember that anything over 10 k gets flagged in case you are up to no good , not that you can't withdraw more.
Thanks Steve that clears that up. Was told you can only withdraw $10k since the virus. So its always been that way. Cheers

The $10,000 threshold relates to bank being required to report such transactions:
Under current Federal legislation, all Australian banks are required to report cash transactions of $10,000 or more (or foreign equivalent), including details of the relevant account holders, to the regulator, the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC).This reporting requirement relates to money laundering. There has been some discussion about possible federal legislation to ban cash transactions over $10,000 but this has not been passed and there is significant community sentiment against such a proposal.
Thanks Johno.
Kinda makes sense. I think banks and govt would prefer us to be cashless
Was getting told it was due to virus. Just more misinformation.

It is with great sadness that I have to mention the loss of a few local businesses as a result of COVID-19. A local bra manufacturer has gone bust, a submarine company has gone under, a manufacturer of food blenders has gone into liquidation, a dog kennel has had to call in the retrievers and a company supplying paper for origami enthusiasts has folded. Local strip club has gone tits up, Interflora is pruning its business and Dyno-rod has gone down the drain. The saddest one though is the ice cream van man found dead covered in nuts and raspberry sauce. He couldn't take it any more and topped himself :rofl2:
i think the only way to provent people from going out wille nilly oh i am diong my keep fit thing first time in the life is for the police to stop them id them and take there details then report them to the gov office so that there name can be taken of the forlow pay sheme 80 percent and they lose the lot , then see how many go out of there home to do there keep fucking fit ie just a fucking reason to get out of the house and the papers should come up with the head lines if you go out with out a valid reason you have just killed some one MURDER

Quote
China has lashed out at Scott Morrison as deserving 'a slap in the face' for trying to blame the COVID-19 pandemic on the communist state, warning any push for an independent inquiry into the virus' origins will spark a travel and trade boycott.
As diplomatic tensions escalated Tuesday night, the Department of Foreign Affairs issued a rebuke to China for leaking details of a private conversation between Australian officials and China over the threats.
But the state-controlled People's Daily accused the Prime Minister of trying to use the calls for a probe to deflect criticism over his handling of the bushfires and the coronavirus crisis.
"The deeply troubled Morrison government is anxious to find an outlet for the domestic public's anger," the People's Daily report states.
"They are using an old trick to try and blame China."
Predicting the Prime Minister's call for an independent inquiry would fail, the People's Daily said France and the United Kingdom would reject it. (I don't think they would ya know)
"This is a slap on the face which has come quickly," it warned.
State-run newspaper Global Times also lashed out in a piece headlined: Morrison's adventurism could damage China-Australia relations beyond repair.
"The Morrison administration is spearheading this malicious campaign to frame and incriminate China with groundless conjecture and outlandish fabrications," an editorial states.
"Based on unsubstantiated anecdotes and hearsay, Australia has been spreading preposterous lies accusing China of opening wet markets trading in wildlife across the country. Sensational tales, which are far from reality, are being told by media shock jocks and some politicians, who allege that bats are on menus in restaurants in China. This nonsense is stigmatising the Chinese community and the Chinese way of life. Yeah sure, far from reality...
"This is an all-out crusade against China and Chinese culture, led by Australia." Hyperbole, much?!
Global Times editor Hu Xijin also reportedly shared a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo comparing Australia to chewing gum.
"After the epidemic, we need to have more risk awareness when doing business with Australia and also when we send our children to study there," he wrote.
"Australia is always there, making trouble. It is a bit like chewing gum stuck on the sole of China's shoes. Sometimes you have to find a stone to rub it off."
The diplomatic war of words follows incendiary comments by the Chinese Ambassador to Australia Cheng Jingye on Monday.
In a recent interview with the Australian Financial Review, Cheng refused to concede that COVID-19 even originated in Wuhan's wet markets.
He also warned a review could spark a Chinese consumer boycott of students and tourists visiting Australia.
"The Chinese public is frustrated, dismayed and disappointed with what Australia is doing now," he said.
"I think in the long term ... if the mood is going from bad to worse, people would think
'Why should we go to such a country that is not so friendly to China? The tourists may have second thoughts.
"The parents of the students would also think whether this place which they found is not so friendly, even hostile, whether this is the best place to send their kids here.
"It is up to the people to decide. Maybe the ordinary people will say 'Why should we drink Australian wine? Eat Australian beef?'"
In response, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade secretary Frances Adamson rang the Chinese ambassador to Australia on Tuesday to complain.
However, China promptly leaked an embarrassing account of the purported comments.
Accusing Australia of trying to "cry up wine and sell vinegar", the Chinese ambassador claimed Ms Adamson played down the immediate need for an investigation.
"Secretary Adamson tried her best to defend Australia's proposal about the independent review, saying the proposal neither has political motive nor targets China," a spokesman said.
"She also admitted it is not the time to commence the review now and Australia has no details of the proposal. She further said that Australia does not want the matter to have any impact on the Australia-China relationship."
"Ambassador Cheng elaborated clearly China's relevant position, stressing that no matter what excuses the Australian side has made, the fact cannot be buried that the proposal is a political manoeuvre.
"Just as a western saying goes: Cry up wine and sell vinegar." (Anyone EVER heard this saying? )
In a strongly worded and rare public statement late on Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs last night accused China of disclosing "purported details of official diplomatic exchanges."
"DFAT notes with regret that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China has issued a statement releasing purported details of official diplomatic exchanges,'' it said.
"The department will not respond by itself breaching the longstanding diplomatic courtesies and professional practices to which it will continue to adhere.
"How foreign missions engage the Australian media are matters for those missions.
"For its part, the department will continue to pursue Australia's interests with all foreign missions according to the highest standards of professionalism, courtesy and respect for our counterparts."
Trade Minister Simon Birmingham confirmed Ms Adamson had called the ambassador following the comments, but declined to reveal details.
"The government has made our displeasure with those (Mr Jingye's) remarks known," Senator Birmingham said.
The rising tensions follow Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton's confirmation that Western intelligence agencies want to probe whether or not COVID-19 accidentally escaped from a Wuhan lab.
An exclusive investigation by The Daily Telegraph revealed on Tuesday that Five Eyes intelligence agencies of Australia, Canada, NZ, UK and US, are looking closely at the work of virologist Shi Zhengli and a senior scientist at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Peng Zhou.
Shi is known as "The Batwoman" of Wuhan according to colleagues, for her groundbreaking research into coronaviruses in bats.
There is a direct Australian link to the researcher's work, with the pair having previously conducted bat research in a Geelong CSIRO lab, The Daily Telegraph uncovered.
But Shi insists COVID-19 did not escape from her lab, although she feared, in the beginning, it might have been responsible.
She recently told the magazine Scientific American that she "breathed a sigh of relief when the results came back: none of the sequences matched those of the viruses her team had sampled from bat caves".
"That really took a load off my mind," she said.
"I had not slept a wink for days."

Yet more official figures showing this claimed 'plague' isn't nearly as bad as the experts said -
These are figures for Rotherham UK.
As of 8am this morning (Monday 1 June), there were 38 inpatients who have tested positive for Covid-19, of which 5 are in Critical Care. There were 38 inpatients waiting for their results.
This brings our total number of positive inpatients we have cared for to 514.
In total, 307 have been discharged and sadly 161 have now died.
There are currently 219 members of staff absent for Covid-related reasons.
The population covered is about 252,000. Which gives infection and death rates of about bugger all for the population as a whole.
Has anyone considered, that the whole world may have just undergone a complete social dictatorship trial.
STAY HOME, CLOSE DOWN, DON'T DRIVE etc.
:whatever: Just saying.
Nope, I haven't.
With the benefit of hindsight l believe the elderly should have been told to lockdown and everyone else just get on with it.
My belief is that they have managed to pin the 21 or 22 covid 19 deaths on the elderly that most likely would have succumbed due to illnesses anyway.
But at least our economy may have survived somewhat intact.
I think it has been cruel when some have had loved ones pass away and have been unable to comfort them in their final days or give them a fitting send off.
ln NZ the numbers of those infected have not warranted the drama.
Just my opinion.

In terms of a "real plague" such as Bubonic (Black plague) or the Spanish Flu, with 200 million and 35-40 million deaths globally respectively, this Covid 19 doesnt even register. Yes its very sad for those that have died and for those in isolation that couldnt say goodbye to their loved ones. With such a connected global society, what is scary is the rate of spread that we saw, so imagine if Covid WAS a super bug like the aforementioned ones and then we'd have something to worry about.

Quite true, however I'm sure this is the second wave as loads of people here as a 'strange cold/flu' in nov/dec that matches the symptoms exactly. So if proper investigation was done it'd have been quickly established that it wasn't dangerous except to the very few. I'm pretty sure that has been done tbh, but hushed up as they can't admit they screwed us all over for a lie can they?

I thoroughly enjoyed: less traffic (we were still allowed joyrides in my state), cheaper petrol, people keeping their distance from me in the grocery store checkoutline.
The 10 million employees (not counting the self-employed) temporarily (hopefully) unemployed in Germany and who knows how many 100's of millions world wide are a desaster.
I don't subscribe to "social dictatorship trial" or any conspiracy theories. The pictures from northern Italy and New York scared the hell out of our politicians. We had a never seen agreement among all political parties for the measures taken and the approval rate among the people was over 90%. Now we have somewhat of a race to reduce the measures. And that is ok as the daily numbers are now low enough for the local health departments to deal with. Our hospitals were never in danger to be overwhelmed. Actually they were underwhelmed!
The one person that I know personally having COVID, lost 20 kg while in ICU and is now back running his business.

If there was any justice in the world all those idiots would now die of it, it's the only time I've wished it was as dangerous as governments are pretending it is.
There's still time.
At this rate when a small minority can make a government change our history the auzies might have to give Australia back to the Aborigines. :whistling:
These twats think that getting rid of all the statues will change our history, they'll want compo next.
Lets get back to jokes or ill really have to type what i think.

Our quarantine system is being shown up as a joke.
I Just can't believe those useless bastards supposedly regulating new arrivals & securing the lockdown, just let them out! It's just incomprehensibly, mind blowingly, fucken stupid. The majority of the country are more than 'slightly miffed' I can tell you.

Restricted to 5 miles for exercise - so me and mrs Notty went to Penarth sea front for some fresh air. She is shielded due to underlying health problems so a rare trip out :)
WTF is wrong with people.
In a country which has (I read) seen 43,000 covid related deaths?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-26/major-incident-declared-as-thousands-flock-to-uk-beach-heatwave/12394772
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-26/liverpool-fans-turn-city-red-with-celebrations-amid-covid-19/12395400
Covid related, means anyone who coughed in the last month I think.
We've had people die of heart conditions they've had for decades & were always going to die of, but they add covid the death cert as it might have been involved. It's overhyped to hell. The hospital I work at covers roughly 252,000 people. Total cases 577 inpatients & 185 deaths. Now to me that doesn't sound anything like as many as this thing is being hyped up as. If you believed the government hype it'd be like the Black Death & kill a third of the population.
Doesn't help that one of the major advisors here has been proven wrong loads of times in the past. It's the same bloke who said 20million would die of Bird Flu, when I think total deaths were 391. He was utterly wrong about BSE too.
@Hooli well said :onya: :onya:

Two new COVID cases in Qld spark criminal investigation into border declaration
There are growing concerns in Queensland after two young women who arrived from Melbourne tested positive.

Two young women have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Queensland, Health Minister Steven Miles announced today.
One is believed to be a worker at the Parklands Christian College at Park Ridge. A criminal investigation will be launched because the two operated dishonestly on arrival.
Mr Miles reported they were two 19-year-old females who had travelled to Melbourne together via Sydney and returned on July 21 on flights VA563 and VA977.
One is from Acacia Ridge one from Logan, in Brisbane's southern suburbs.
Queensland Health were in the process of setting up rapid testing stations throughout southern Brisbane and those who had any concerns were encouraged to get tested.
"These young women have gone about their business in the communities they live in – so there will be a large amount of contact tracing to be done – largely within in the Logan and Springfield areas."
Mr Miles said, the women had visited shopping centres, a restaurant and a church in the area and Queensland Health contact tracers were investigating these leads.
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said these young women's behaviour would inconvenience many people throughout the community, as the facilities they had visited would be closed until deep cleaning and contact tracing had been finalised.
Dr Young also announced that all aged-care facilities in Queensland's metro south area would once again be closed to visitors as an additional precaution.
"We need to act fast, these young women have been out in the community for eight days unwell," Dr Young said.
"If you have any concerns get your self tested as soon as possible and if you're unwell stay at home."
Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said the circumstances of the young women's re-entry into Queensland from Melbourne was an ongoing criminal investigation.
"Initial investigations indicate there were incorrect details on border declaration passes," Mr Gollschewski said.
"This highlights why you need to declare if you've been to Victoria where there's been a high instance of community transmission.
"You need to think about those around you - not just yourself."

BETTER please explain (in bes tPauline Hanson voice) :stir: :stir:
As we in the Bay of Plenty here in NZ snivel along in level 2 the Auckland area are in a paralising level 3. Listening to the news this morning they are talking about making face covering/masks compulsory on public transport.
Never thought it would be made compulsory to wear a burqa
We've had compulsory face coverings on public transport for a while now. Yet another reason to never use it.
Saw a couple of people today ,driving their cars ALONE,with a bloody mask on FFS ! (are they saving the steering wheel from catching the coni virus ????? ) lol.
Am I missing something ???
The ones doing that & wearing gloves really make me laugh.
I've got a sore throat which obviously means a slight temp, headache & coughing occasionally. You know like a normal regular sore throat that you get occasionally before everyone wanted to pretend that any slight illness was a fatal imaginary plague.
Anyway they told me to go for one of the plague tests. I'm just back from the local drive through one, what an utter load of bollocks! some idiot shouting at you so you can't hear them because you're not allowed to open your windows, then ring two people stood by your car rather than just talk to them. No one actually assists with the test so you've probably swabbed the wrong places etc etc
Christ, if I wasn't fully aware it's overhyped rubbish you'd think it was something highly contagious & dangerous. Utterly bloody daft. But in 24-48hrs I know if I've got a normal bug or a 'lets pretend it'll kill everyone even though 99.9% of people recover from it while we destroy society about it' bug.
Place your bets..
I took the missus to the MOT centre last week where they do the Covid and blood tests for the hospital. We had to go to Lane 4, got to the roller door it opened then waved over into Lane 3 for covid, the guy obviously dealing with both lanes gives us the necessary crap we are then directed back into lane 4, so missus goes in to give blood for tests and now there a good chance we come out with Covid.

Seek comfort in knowing you are in the 'Team of 5 Million'
I know, l know, we would prefer to see two teams of 15 playing each other.
But that won't keep us scared and compliant will it !!
Remember lockdown, up to 80,000 deaths they said. We have now lost 24, the large majority of those over 80 years of age.
Coffin dodging is not easier just because we get older and wiser......
