Evening Gentlemen

my K2 has started not starting off the button you need to wind in a little throttle to get it to start - once started its fine ticks over like a good un

So I was thinking of balancing the throttle bodies as its a never been done in teh 5 years Ive had it - now Ive balanced a fair few carbs and from reading these ones are no different with the carb tune - whats perplexing me is where do you place the tank so the fuel line and fuel pump wires are still connected or is there something Im missing

Hi Del, hope you are well

After you have removed the two bolts from the rear of the tank, slide it rearwards and rotate clockwise it will then sit sideways across the frame rails (i used an old blanket to protect the tank and the rails) no need to disconnect either the fuel pipe or electrics just be careful with the breather pipe which could become trapped/kinked. It works a treat

I do the same turn the rank round and cover the frame with an old towel .

I disconnect the drain pip that pulls off & rotate the tank 180 degrees. It sits quite happy where the saddle would with a cloth over the bike.

Don't forget to disconnect the MAP sensor too, it's in the middle to the top frame rails & the vacuum pipes go to it. Just unplug it's multiplug. That'll light the FI light & make the ECU run on a failsafe settings, if you don't the bike won't idle with the vacuum pipes disconnected due to the vacuum readings it'd be getting.
