Post by: Eisenfarn on Saturday, 07 December 2019, 09:21 AM
Hi all, most annoying thing, trying to set the clock on my GSX14 G5, the right hand button has popped in and don't work any more :(, is there an easy fix?, is this a common thing? any help welcomed!

First I've heard of this. All I can suggest is that you may need to take the clocks off and then take them apart to get to the switch underneath the rubber element you push and spray with a bit of contact cleaner - if that doesn't work, then with the circuit board out, try just edging out the switch shaft with a needle (not a pin) to free it then spray with contact cleaner

As @gsxbarmy says take them apart (quiet easy to do) and check the button .
Good luck

Quite common..Mine did it years ago.
Simple fix for me..Just take clocks apart, release the rubber and go from there.

Yep, happened to me recently. The button is a bit of rubber about 1cm long that pushes on a microswitch on the circuit board under the panel. Sometimes it goes sideways and gets stuck on one side of the microswitch.

I took the clocks apart to fix it, but knowing what I do now I would probably try pulling it outwards gently with some soft pliers. You never know, might come loose that way and save you some fiddling.

Hi guys, just an update. I used a small flathead screwdriver to start prising the rubber and it popped out on it's own and it works fine now.

I stupidly tried resetting my daylight savings time with my gloves on the other day and the reset button got stuck down, I had had it apart not long after I got the bike for the same reason so knew what was in there, fixed it on the spot by first removing glove and then rotating the rubber around a bit and it popped right back out
