I know it's probably on the wrong side of town
@grog :whatever:
However look this site up. The results have amazed me. https://painfreephysio.com/ I had this preconceived idea my pain was in my back. How wrong could I have been. I am painfree for the first time in many years and can touch my toes easily now. :onya: :onya: :onya:
I know how you feel Grog. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Hi Grog
I had it for 4 months the 1st time I had it.
The 2nd time it lasted 2 weeks thanks to this video.
5 mins morning and evening is all it Takes.

Not a nice condition to have at all, you have my sympathy
I suffered with my back badly about 20 years ago, the worst bout lasted approx 18 months, it was that bad I had to use my right leg/foot alone to drive a manual gearbox car and mastered clutch-less gear changes so well I still only use the clutch now when pulling off or stopping. I visited my chiropractor once a fortnight for over twelve months but by the next morning I was always back to square one, at the time I had a Vauxhall Astra as a company car, out of the blue one day a brand new Ford Mondeo was delivered to the depot for me and the Astra was taken away, lo and behold within a few days my back complaint had totally gone, and I swear now if I ever sit in a Vauxhall I suffer from back ache for a day or so - possibly a coincidence or possibly Vauxhall seats and me will never get on!
been there done that you have my sympathy Grog :bugga:
I had it for six months, it's no sodding fun at all.
Mine turned out to be in my hip! where the sciatic nerve crosses the joint on the way down the leg. I'd walked funny for 9 miles pushing my Bonnie home once & that did it, six months later I moved leg oddly & felt a sudden stab of pain & then nothing. Took days to believe the sciatica had stopped.
I've suffered on and off with back pain nearly 20 years now, having just undergone my latest 5 year review, it's clear that the 4 discs at the base of my spine I split in 2000 are deteriorating rapidly and are now under half the size they should be. With management, I should get another 10-15 years before they go completely.
What I've found over the years is that what many claim to be sciatica isn't - it can be caused by a trapped nerve that "just" needs easing free. Due to the issues with my spine, I often manage to trap my nerve (smaller canal ways for the nerve to "move" which can last anything from a few minutes to a few days. Whilst I'm still under bi-monthly chiropractic sessions for keeping my spine aligned and in shape, some of the best exercise you can do for either a trapped nerve or sciatica is walking. Yes at times, bloody painful to do, but if you stick with it and get the spine and nerves working they start to free up and work properly again.
So in all honesty
@grog, the best I can suggest you do is some (as brisk as you can) walking, 20 minutes morning and evening, which will help manage your condition. Swimming also is good for helping get things going again.
Thanks fellas. Off to see physio in 2 hrs. He reckons he can help. Speedy, tried the stretches, great video, certainly eased pain.
@grog have you had a result ???? :whistling: :whistling:
Still in pain GSX. Not quite as much. Physio didnt help. Have done more stretches than possible. At least getting easier to sleep. Nurofen a big help.
Must say I would go down the chiropractic route rather than physio. Back trouble I had some years ago was made worse by physio but sorted quicker and less painfully by the chiropractic. Good luck anyway, back pain is a bitch

I'm hearing this advice more and more in regards to back issues. Mum had some back pain and chiro fixed it quick smart. Many vistis to the physio before had done naff all.
Never been a fan of Chiros but at this stage will try. Into my 3rd week of agony, is there still a world out there. Best part is riding just correct angle, no pain on 14. Makes me appreciate it more.
Chiropractor always did OK for me
The best advice I could give though would be to take it easy after the treatment, most times I walked out of the Chiropractor feeling 100% after having everything manipulated back into place & it was so easy to start lifting, carrying and generally living life as usual, this was a big mistake as it takes a bit of time after treatment for everything to settle down and stay in place. I eventually found that taking it easier for a week or so after the treatment was the key, difficult to do when you are feeling good but well worthwhile and saves additional wear & damage to the delicate spinal Vertebrae
Cheers
Pete
Here's me thinking I found a thread about food
Sriracha sauce and gyros :embarassed:
Good luck... Think we can all share our stories of our weird bodily conditions.
Luckily I left mine in the past ( acute sarcoidosis)
Get wel sell
Chiro or physio really depends if it's bones or muscles at fault.
Oesteopath and acupuncture :)
Tried Osteo's and Physio's, none of them worked for me. Been under a Chiro the last 4 months and have significantly more movement and less back pain, best I've been for almost 20 years.
But do ask around, some are better than others, personal recommendations always useful.
Thanks heaps for all your help. Amazing. All praise from me. Nearly 3 weeks now, stretches, self manipulation, reckon im half cured. Have had some really bad nights, wrist slashing pain. Cant lie or stand but sitting is good. Riding bike is the best, just painless. Biggest golf weekend coming up, wont even try, would have to crawl around. Thanks again for ideas blokes. Brilliant people on this site. :clapping: :worshippy: :hat:
If golf is off then riding can be on !
