Title: Has anyone tried fitting Honda or kawazaki shocks
Post by: seth on Thursday, 24 October 2019, 05:35 AM
Has anyone ever tried to fit a set of rear shocks from a cb1300 Honda or a zrx1100/1200 Kawasaki to a gsx 1400 as very similar bikes.
I know the xjr shocks fit but are slightly shorter and built to a budget price so only on a par with our gsx1400 shocks
Thanks as any info would be useful for all .

Car should probably have been XJR before auto correct?

Not sure about others but I see the XJR Folins (Fake Ohlins ) as inferior as the ones I looked at weren't 3 way adjustable like the GSX's.

I've bought a set of CB1300 shocks fingers crossed they will fit, a bit longer the standard but just the same as a Jack up kit, so will be fine

Honda shocks are obout 30 mm longer than OEM. .
ZRX1200 if I remember also have about 36,2 cm from eye to eye... so almost the same as CB.

But they probably will fit and work fine. Any one have ride on these shocks a bit longer?

I've got them and the holes are the same size but it's so cold I've not been out to fit them

I have a ZRX1200 and the shocks are 365mm eye to eye with a 92mm stroke.
Other than that they are visually the same with a standard type spring adjuster, which is better than a seized GSX type.
I looked at Ohlins off a FJ1300 and they are 326mm eye to eye with a 62mm stroke.

Sorry for the late answer, I've sold the bike with the honda shocks on, it handled just fine I'm no hero anymore, I'd buy them again over hagons, the only downside is centre stand needed a small plank of wood under it to get a wheel off the ground, and it was harder to get it up on the stand, also leant over quite a bit on side stand.
