Title: Hello from Guernsey
Post by: dennisgsy on Tuesday, 22 October 2019, 07:28 AM
Thanks for adding me to the group.

Back in 2002 I bought my first blue/white K2 which I traded-in for an Suzuki 1800 Intruder bike a few years later.  I recently managed to find a replacement K2 with exactly 17,500 miles on the clock.

Within 24 hours of owning my latest K2 I had it stripped down and sent parts off to be painted. Lots of new parts on order and for anyone who likes completely original bikes, you might be a bit disappointed

I've uploaded a photo of my original GSX but I'll be going in a slightly different direction this time

I'm not sure but must be a few thousand although many are in collections or off the road.

Today I've been busy polishing engine covers and I also test fitted my number plate. (Number 1400 is on another Guernsey K2 and my number 1401 was on my original K2 and will be on the new one too. No letters or other nonsense over here. Note: the under tray is loose so it looks slightly pissed

You'll need to get 1402 as your number plate if you can as that's the engine size .
Can you get number plates in blue and white as they'll be faster than black ones  :stir:

Hi Seth, back when I was looking for a '14nn' number I knew 1402 would be a good alternative to 1400 as it is the engine size but when 1401 came available I decided two '1's looked tidier and was close enough to 1400. Also on the subject of Guernsey reg numbers, I also own a Triumph Rocket X limited edition number 348/500. After spending a lot of time looking for my car number 6110 (bikes and car numbers duplicate each other) which is now on both vehicles, I was offered number 348 at a price. I decided to save my pennies and stick with the number I've got.

I'm now patiently waiting for paint shop, powder-coating, new forks for the K2 project.....

Dennis
