That would annoy me.

I like the drilled pattern to go the other way,
Holes trailing / Catherine wheel style.
That makes my mind think it's going backwards.

So are you saying that Suzuki got it wrong Tony?

I think mine go the other way but it is a K7 and I'm sure more holes.
It is quite common to see early model GSX and GS around eighties with that direction but it was not factory usually switched after a rebuild.

Does it make any difference, not something ive ever thought about.

Not particularly @grog
A different thread went way off topic into this direction so thought I'd start a thread for folk to show the many different disc set ups available for our bikes .
As for disc's themselves the options are
Round ,Semi-wavey and
Wavey discs.
There are many manufacturers of disc with varing claims on performance.
They also vary across a wide price range.

Hope this helps

Just 1 thing to add front and rear discs are the same part number across all years of gsx1400 and the fronts are also used by other Suzuki models (never checked the rears for other models using them)
Seth

Thanks Seth. I just use standard discs on mine, all in good nick, calipers etc. I dont mind them at all. Today i took Diavel to service, clean, fill with ulp. I sure know how good brakes can be, that thing is amazing. If there are better, not sure how. Back on 14 tomorrow, just needs me to re adjust. I dont find it a problem.

Well it does, if you are an anorak into classic bike and it is not the way it came out of the factory. It also annoys some people.
Personally I prefer it like Tony says and I am not an anorak but I am known to annoy people.
I believe performance wise it makes no difference but maybe it would in wet conditions.
I just remembered my back disc may not be factory as I replaced the wheel and that disc was on it.

Not at all.

Suzuki didn't send any of mine out looking like that...  ;)

I've never had mine off, but is it possible to mount them successfully either way?  :whatever:

You could Col but with a machined face on one side and counterbored mounting holes on the other you'd have to be a dill to get it wrong. This photo is an OEM back rotor. In my original post the back rotor is after market Japanese.

Seth

From memory of threads on the old Org, the rear disc is unique to 14s.

The Previous owner put a Black Shadow rear disc on Sophie.
I prefer the standard one to be honest.
Eventually I shall return to standard.

Shall be returning to standard faster than I thought.
