Title: Kawasaki purchase Bimota ?
Post by: Tony Nitrous on Friday, 27 September 2019, 01:24 PM
Not sure if anyone else follows these story's ?
... or if it's only me that finds it of interest ?

There's a story doing the rounds that Kawasaki have / will own Bimota in the near future.
Not sure how accurate this is but it's no bad thing if true.

It would keep the Bimota brand afloat (again) and could make for some flagship bikes for Kawasaki. A Kawasaki version of Toyota's Lexus type spin off.

A serious KB racebike based around the latest ZX10R ?

A KB-H2 streetbike ?

Kawasaki have had recent trades and sharing with Suzuki too so another SB wouldn't be impossible ?

I've been a Bimota fan for a long while.

I'm not obsessive over the brand, I always thought the Tesi and the V-Due were bad ideas.

I would love a Kawasaki or Suzuki engined one though.
I was always a bit disappointed they went from aircooled Suzuki's to watercooled ones and skipped the oilcooler GSXR motors.

I know a couple of lads with Bimota's and I've always been a bit envious.

I foresee a supercharged Bimota.... :boogie2:

Yeah fair call on the V-due (https://amcn.com.au/editorial/13291/) shame it didn't work for sure.

But the Tesi 3D (https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/bimota/tesi-3d/2007/) was 'Bike of the Year 2014' and was such a bad idea that it was cool.

There are still a few around and I imagine very low kms as they didn't work often.
