Title: New owner of 2008 GSX1400
Post by: ndp_2010 on Thursday, 26 September 2019, 06:28 PM
I recently bought a GSX 1400 to use as something more comfortable for riding with pillion/longer rides/more bumpy roads (currently also own a sports bike). Has 50,000 KM on the clock, has not been looked after meticulously (cosmetically not that great, but I am sure to bang it up a bit myself  ), but I believe the previous owner at least serviced basics such as oil at the proper intervals. Had remus slip-on, which looks OK, would prefer Akro full system if I ever get that much spare cash, but for now will do the job.

Really like the naked look, and large seat, and upright riding position :D
Currently have now added healtech ATRE and gear indicator and Hel braided brake lines (clutch line to be added once I get parts for master cylinder repair). Will be refreshing brake pads soon, add the stock short indicators to the rear, and possibly trim the mud guard. Looking for some crash protectors since the engine bars didnt work out for me, R&G knobs and sliders look like the best option, if you have any for sale let me know

Welcome to the forum npd_2010.  :onya:
Don't cut down your mud guard, they are becoming sought after.  There must be plenty on the forum for sale as a lot of owners are trying to go back to original spec so you will be able to sell it for more than the cost of a cut down second hand one if you still want to go that way.

Agreed, the blacks are a great looking bike.  There's some nice touches there ndp, the black renthals, black timing cover, tape on the forks to prevent or hide the mank.  Think I'd be removing the rim tape off the rear mudguard myself.   :onya:

Did not know they were aftermarket bars :D
a few things still to do for sure, the front forks are a bit feral, maybe one day if seals need to be done I will paint them
