Title: Damsel in distress
Post by: Snapey on Monday, 23 September 2019, 09:34 PM
A long time member of the old org is having problems with her 14 and requires assistance.

Suzie Q is having fuel problems and to prove her HP filter is at fault I suggested borrowing a good tank for a 30 second run. Unfortunately she doesn't know any Tassie 1400 owners so I'm asking if anyone in the Hobart/New Norfolk area might be able to help out a genuine good lady.

There's a post on FB & sound video too.

She jumped over to us for a long weekend that time as I was back here for a couple of months, if I remember right she had stayed at Baso's before that.

I steered Suzi to the org & she said she was waiting for a confirmation email after filling in the membership form. I haven't seen her name pop up yet.

I have been meaning to write this so here is a draft version. I am the author, i grabbed a few pictures of the internet and added the words to it.
Feel free to distribute but use at own risk. See attachment.

In short

If correctly advertised: these will fit

GSX-R 600 from 2001 to 2003 (tested by me for fitment)
GSX-R750 from 2004 – 2008 (noticed the shift here) and (tested by me for fitment)
GSX-R1000 from 2003 – 2004 (tested by me for fitment)
ZX10R 2004 – 2005 (assumed by me because it looks the same)

So also are a few pointers what not to get:
Please do not use the black pump with 2 level sensor attached to the HPF.
This version is circa 1.5 cm higher and will not fit in the tank. (also tested by me) It has more wires due this extra sensor, this is also a give away.

Hope this helps.

*add disclaimer to protect you from your own stupidity. READ and think before you act.
Make sure you get the right replacement part and start tinkering with a empty tank and a disconnected battery. Remember your Health and Safety training.. blablabla

The last time I seen Suzanne was a couple of years back when my bus passed her bus on the way to Port Arthur, Tasmania.
