Title: polished grab rail
Post by: steve porter on Friday, 20 September 2019, 03:53 PM
Here`s something I did a couple of months back, it had a few touched up scratches when I got it and needed something done to look right

Nice job Steve..
Is this where you insist that the Porsche in the background is not yours and that your at a mates house?

Either way a nice car mate..

I used to own a Mercedes CLK63 AMG !!
VERY VERY quick !!

What a gorgeous car and colour..
My CLK had monster discs on which were eye watering in price if they needed replacing..
When I first got it I did a 250 mile drive up to the Lake District and because the brutal acceleration was so addictive I tended to use it more than I didn't!!
Problem was that when I got home the rear tyres were worn half way down!!
Rear tyres were £325 each !
You could easily scrub the rears in under 1000 miles...
Like you, I also like cars and bikes..

Another beauty I owned was a SL500  Nothing like as fast but the most comfortable car I have ever owned !!

Yea, the really are tyre shredders, the mate who had one was onto his fourth set of rears in under 10,000 km, as for the SL 500, spent a fair bit of time in one of those and the owner and I dubbed it the very best ordinary, every day  car ever made.

Nice job on handrail Steve. Did mine years ago, look so nice on 14. IMO. Your car is beautiful, way out of my range. Customer at work has 2 Porsche. Both very flash. One is over 800 bhp. Other is a light weight. Laps Qld Raceway at lower times than a V8 Supercar, His story. The upgraded wheels cost him $80 g. No idea of model, will look for a pic. Found pic of the light weight,200 bhp less than his other but quicker. Rear wheel nut is some huge ft/lb.  Took a 6 ft bar to undo

GT3-RS.

We have the GT3 and GT2-RS's in at work.

Had a couple come in that the customers had ticked a LOT of the option list. We did a quick calculation and an OK house would have been cheaper.

Steve, just my thoughts but i think polished grab rail just looks so classy. Another thing ive done, reckon it adds to nice/classy. Polished bar risers and got polished top plate for triple clamp. Just looks nice. IMO

Steve,

I am a new member also in Melbourne so hi to everyone on this forum. I did the same with the grab handle on my blue and white 2006 GSX1400. I also did the bar end weights which IMO balances it out nicely. You may also like to look at chromed plastic plugs for the M6 bolts as these really finish it off

Good thinking on the plugs, does finish it off nicely
