Hi all,
I know some of you have made tools and used a trolley Jack for removing the springs off the rear shocks, but I dont have a trolley Jack and I also dont have a garage/workshop for making tools...
Plus I suffered a severe case of "CBA" (Cantbearseditus)..
However after searching online I discovered a guy selling Spring removers for old British bikes.. They were the wrong size for my bike BUT in his advert he states he can make specific sizes...
I think this tool is a really neat idea (see photos 1 & 2)
He needed the specs of the lower part of my shock (Collet diameter and other dimensions), so I removed a shock and got the digital micrometer out and sent him photos with my rear shocks details.. I have attached the photos I sent here as they may be useful if any of you guys that are good at manufacturing your own tools want to have a go.. (see photos 3 & 4)..
Total cost (in the UK) inc postage was £35 as he is making it "Sophie Specific"..
The advert on eBay for the British fit version was £25
That price doesn't offend me at all.. I wouldn't want to make it and post it for £35 !

Hiya
@Speedy1959 If the guy is looking to sell a few of these please put up a link for him .
This is a very neat solution to the problem of stripping down the rear shocks I'm sure a few folk on here would buy 1 from him .
Great find buddy .
