Title: Shocks... again and again
Post by: KoZi on Friday, 23 August 2019, 06:25 PM
After 3 years of rebuild rear shocks ... one of them have a verry little leak on piston rod.

Quick question:
1.Rebuild them again?
2. Buy Hagon Nitro or YSS (version with extra reservoir) ?

Only this two options because of price...

Thanks for any advice !

If the mileage after last rebuild isn't VERY high I wouldn't have the same person rebuild them again.

Hagon Nitros have been recommended here many times  :mwink:

I seem to remember someone on here has and they seemed fine for what they were..
I think someone on my previous Honda CB1300 forum had.. I am possibly mixing up forums..
But I remember they said they were better than they expected.

I was told Ohlins are made in China, the cheap ones have a different sticker.

Yep.
I'm just starting a night shift at work but i'll post a pic tomorrow afternoon and a part number.
When I ordered them from Hagon they asked me various questions about my riding style and my weight and if I rode one or two up. They came to me set up already and they were pretty close to how I wanted them

@Simonic

How long do you have them ? Do you setup up sag ? Extra reservoir - can you sent a photos from bottom? It isn't a fake reservoir ? - looks different  :cheesy:

Hi,
When i bought them from Hagon they asked me how much i weighed and what my riding style was. They set up the shocks before they sent them to me. I've not felt the need to adjust them any more.
The reservoir is a working part of the shocker

They are not listed on their web site so must be a brand new design from Hagen.

Apologies Simonic..
It was my attempt to imply that they may have come to you via China..
I have had Hagon Nitros (Non Piggy Back) in the past, and they were excellent quality.. I liked the fact that they were all Stainless Steel (even the springs)..
