Tally, give yourself plenty of time to get there as the M5 becomes a huge car park on bank holidays.  So do most of the roads like the A38 as plenty of them holiday makers try to avoid the motorway.

Same here it's like lemmings leaving the city to enjoy a bit of traffic congestion and road rage in order to go camping and live like homeless people  :stir: :stir: :stir: :stir: :stir: :happy1: :happy1: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

As Clarkson once said, why do people spend thousands of pounds to park in a field and shit in a bucket.  :whatever:

Cause we're just practicing for when we are homeless?  Like a bloke about your size Chris said, if I have to explain it to ya, you wouldn't understand.
Each to their own, I do it because I like camping by the beach (albeit in a luxury 5th wheeler) with my boat there to go fishing & crayfishing & to go blasting on the quad bike (Yam 700 Grizzly) with the MRS on hers & our friends on theirs, and the change of scenery at different pubs.  dunno, just me I suppose.    :onya:

Col, Your not camping it's now called Glamping.
Well, years ago we did start off in a small tent, then brought a bigger tent, then a boat (still got it after 17 years) then a 24' caravan, then the quad bikes, then the 5th wheeler. So while we're maybe now 'at the top' of the camping scale as it were, still feels like camping albeit with aircon in summer & underfloor heating throughout in winter.  It's like a small apartment, everything is there, we just rock up, hook up power & water & we're set.
We usually go away every 2nd weekend, but Mrs has been away looking after grandkids for a couple of weeks so we've not gone, getting withdrawl symptoms too.

Nah mate, the 5th wheeler & quads live at the beach in Kaikoura. I tow the boat up when I plan to use it.

Well! Back from Cornwall and what a lovely place it is there. Rode out over dartmoor on Saturday a gorgeous road apart from the bloody sheep. My mate on his recently restored 79 bonneville. Me on my 14. Bbq and beers on sat night. A classic rock concert on Sunday night at the local pub where the whole village was shut off to traffic and plenty of doombar was consumed. Anyway a pic of the bonnie
