Title: Sound test for Delkevic 35cm carbon can
Post by: KiwiCol on Sunday, 21 July 2019, 04:37 PM
Just having a wee play with uploading video.  The link below should take you to a short video and sound of the carbon can I just swapped over.  Will see what happens.

Well, it worked once for me, now it's a no go?  Oh well, too bad, never mind.   Fixed it, going again.

It's ok to have it here, been through the system when it was on the black, no problems with a WOF - same as your MOT.  It's quite loud / grunty sounding standing beside it, but at open road speeds & just cruising it's not loud at all - give it a handful to pass or something & it's a different story though.

I'm not sure of the brand, these things were a dealer fit option here & Aussie. They do basically eliminate all the wind blast from your body, which is good, but because I'm tall (195cm) it directs all that wind straight at my head area. I get (or used to) a hell of a lot of buffeting on the helmet.  If I duck down a little, I'm in the calm air, but I'd look like a knob riding like that, a wannabe racer stance.  So I have 2 alternatives now, I've added an extra clip on screen to direct the flow higher (works ok but not completely) and I've also got a cut down screen I fit now & again, this allows the air to flow more at the body, thus reducing the head buffeting, but increasing the body pressure.

If you were, say, 5'8" - 5'11" sort of thing, (AKA @Notty)  the wind blast would go right over the top & they'd be great for you.

I'm only 5'7 so should be good foe me. I've tried to search for them but nothing comes up. I like the ones from Japan but at around $750 AUD posted they are quite expensive. I think GSXBarmy has a colour coded one. I can buy cheaper but by the time you get it painted it would probably cost around the same or more.

I'm 6'1", quite a few years ago I experimented with 3mm clear acrylic sheet and a heat gun, I had a 1250 Bandit at the time, I made extensions of different heights and bolted them to the existing faring, the higher I went the worse it got, in the end, as far as I'm concerned, farings suck dog's balls. The best I've come up with is no faring.
Col, at 195 I can only imagine :frustrated:
