Been scouring bikesales.com.au and watching youtube vids and I have this unholy feeling I should get a 2nd hand DR650.

or maybe even a Quackasaki KLR650.
Aside from the fact I have no money...
Tell me why I shouldn't.
Since you don't have the money think about getting a new one.

DRs are awesome. I sold mine to get on The Express and if it wasn't for the 1402 being so awesome, I'd probably regret selling The Dr.

Yeah literally the 'fun' police.
I loved my '05 model especially with the Yamaha wheels.
gsxr muffler?
Nothing wrong with you Vlad - completely different world out there when you get off the hard stuff - am going through that process now with the GS and I can say that I will not be returning to a bike that I cannot comfortably negotiate dirt/gravel/mud with.
ANd why the Yammie wheels?

ANd why the Yammie wheels?
Because I had a couple laying around and the axles were a perfect fit. It meant I could have a set of designated dirt tyres on the stock rims & something to piss off the over dressed, all style & under skilled litre sports bike riders.
hehe i hear ya. Back in the day of BEARS racing at Lakeside there was a bloke who punted a bike really well around that circuit - a Guzzi Quota - putting a number of 'sport bikes' to shame.
Similar story from me, bloke had single Suzuki , are they called trail bikes, had super sticky tyres, reckoned now one got away from in our hinterland. He also had two sets of wheels, others fitted for off road.
Indeed. Knobblies on hinterland mountain twisties would be much less... desirable.
Is it a surprise to anyone that the Minister for War and Finance said... :wife:
I keep mentioning it but I feel like I'm :deadhorse: but if I have to I'll beat that bastard til it wakes up!
Lots of mates have done the super motard / Super retard thing.
The two sets of wheels are fine in theory.
In reality, it's a lot more dicking about as stuff like the gearing is never right for both and none were happy with a common suspension set up.
Trail bikes are good, as a Motards, a quick swap between them is never ideal.

I haven't told my wife I'm looking for another bike.
I'm supposed to be waiting until we move.
