Title: MT10 Yamaha
Post by: grog on Tuesday, 09 July 2019, 08:02 PM
Just my thoughts on this reasonably new model. Such a great bike. Was thinking of getting one. Bloke at work had his now 6 months. It does most things perfectly, front brakes nowhere near what monos should be, Diavel has way better . Its quality, Yamaha supposed to be perfect, both air intake screens going rusty. Fuel use, wow, runs on 98 but 200ks is a good day. Thats for 20 litres. This one has big dollar comfort seat fitted, take the foam out of your 14, about the same. Insurance quote was triple what i pay for 14. Amazing bike to ride, just feels good. No way for pillion, just a tiny seat. Really thought i wanted one as my everyday, sell 14, just doesnt cut it. As a ride to check out, an hours blast, incredible. Those cross plane motors are brilliant. They say new pads fixes front brakes, you pay money, why not good pads from new. Summary, unreal bike, same power as Diavel in shed, lowdown much better. So nice to ride but just couldnt live with as only bike. Sorry to bore you lot but its the latest, newest i thought i might like. 14 wins again.

Best of the Jap nakeds.

Not a full on R1 motor but better than most.

KTM, S1000R, Tuono V4 seem to be the more aggressive nakeds, and the GSX-S, Z1000, CB1000R, the new Kitten the tamer ones.

I did consider the MT10, I think they are a really good bike, just not the highest spec bike, or top performer in their class. Comfort was never going to be amazing, they aren't designed to be a lazy or retro bike, they are more of a naked sports bike.

Until Kwak do a naked H2 or SX the MT10 is my pick of the Jap nakeds.
