Not really an electrics question .
More of a glue question ?
I'm not repairing a set of clocks for a mate (just the inner casing)
I'm looking for what works best on the black inner casing in a set of clocks superglue just seams to run off it and doesn't seam to stick at all.
Thanks
If you can clamp it together once stuck - try Gorilla glue. Takes (up to) 24 hours to go off though.
Cheers Dave if that will work great I'll give it a go .

It seems to stick most things
@seth that I've tried it on - must admit I've never tried it on the clock casing part you mention, but it's worked on similar plastics for me.
Other option is to find someone local to plastic weld it - that would be more solid I would think
You'll find the casing is probably ABS. Many moons ago we used MEK as a glue but it's really dangerous shit so the alternative these days is acetone either straight or mixed with ABS off cuts to make a slurry. I think Tamiya also make an ABS glue.
If you allready got the casings apart, there should be a stamp stating what kind of plastic it is (a arrow triangle with a number stating what it is as PETE, PS, PP, PVC and so on) and when you know what it is you'll google right kind of glue for it ( for example: glue for polyvinylchloride (PVC) dont work on polypropylene (PP) and glue for PP doesnt work for polyethylene (PE) ...)
I use JB Weld plastic bonder. It's a 2-part epoxy designed for sticking plastic. Works really well.

Before we found out how dangerous MEK was we would pour it on anyone who had a cut on their hands. If I got a cut I would try to keep it a secret because MEK bloody well hurts in an open cut, so I'm not surprised it melts plastic.
