Title: Oil drips from rubber tube below bike
Post by: vonny232 on Tuesday, 21 May 2019, 06:26 PM
Hi Folks,

Got to work this morning and noticed a few Oil drips on the floor. I put the bike on the centre stand and can see Oil drips from one of the two rubber hoses dangling next to the collector box.

I have never noticed this before, though I have noticed my bike was losing Oil previously and am wondering if this is related.

Please see attached pics - Any ideas?

There is a plug missing. The hose comes from the "catch can" inside the airbox originating from the Engine block breather. Plug it and when you do an oil change take the time to remove the plug and let it drain.

There should only be a few ml coming out and you should not see a change in oil level because of it.

Yeah im a dipshit. I went back down to the car park and found the cap and circlip on the ground.

Must have kicked it off when I lowered the stand.

And yes, looks like a few ml of Oil.

Remove clean and empty, then refit and block it back up again. Unblock it periodically to keep it empty.
