So a month ago i bought stock bike that has been poorly maintained,it was cheap but needed some tlc.
It's k2 model that started its journey in L99 blue/white color, sadly somebody painted the bike metallic blue :cry2:
Rear shock preload adjusters were seized so had to do a fair bit of filing to get the pins out that hold adjuster knobs in place.
Changed 42 tooth rear sprocket, new oem front sprocket an new chain of course.
Fitted jack up kit, puig naked screen, wider handlebars, stainless akrapovic full race system and power commander.
Now the bike is tuned and it is much better than month ago.
Looking good Villiam3rd :onya:
Good looker Mate. I like it.
Do you ride in the zone of 6,000-7,000 rpm ? :whatever:

No, but as you can see from the torgue curve there is over 130nm of torgue in my use from 2000 to 6000rpm. That is the range where most of the riding is done.
:boogie: let us know how the rear tyres hold up
I get 8000+ miles out of my rear tyre using Pirelli gt's
I have 136bhp at the rear wheel.
Mines the blue line on the graph it's not the most upto date dyno but show what it was .
Seth, what modifications you have on your bike?
Well see how tyres hold up, in spring finnish roads are rough and tyre wear is immense thru may.
I have michelin pilot road 3 in the back and pirelli something in the front, can't remember what it is.
Today i loosenend the front brake disc bobbins and checkd that all brake pistons were moving.
Sadly it started raining so i won't be riding the bike to work, will have to test if there is any improvement some other day.

Sounds good, still reliable but lots more power than stock bike :onya:
So... Oil cooler started leaking and as i suspected the flange is cracked
Original spare part is out of guestion, because the price is thru the roof.
Does anybody know where i can buy AN fittings to the block?. I looked at HEL performance web site, but could not find them for sale.

What is an AN fitting? If you are thinking of trying to fix the standard cooler, in all honesty its unlikely it can be done if its leaking.
See this thread on oil coolers - also has links to the HEL oil cooler or in fact the Setrab cooler that HEL use...

AN (Army/Navy) also known as Dash. HEL uses these.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN_thread (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN_thread)
@Villiam3rd Might be worth it to call HEL as they may be willing to sell them even though they are not listed by themselves.
You can also check this ebay shop. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/Torques-U-K?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/Torques-U-K?_trksid=p2047675.l2563) Might even have a shop on ebay-Finland (they have one in Germany). If you can't find the item you may contact them. Quite sure some here have used them.
For sure the cracked cooler can't be fixed.
Torques UK does sell AN fitting to gsxr, and it has the same bolt spacing(32mm) on the block as gsx14.
Still decided to order coolexperts oil cooler, for now it is the fastest way get back on the road.
Today as the bike is resting without oil cooler, decided to remove the tank and clean the tea bag filter.
To my suprise the fuelpump didn't have tea bag at all .
Will have to think about fitting 6mm filter in the fuel line for now, at first look couldn't find strainer for sale in finland.
@Villiam3rd If you need a teabag
pm me your address and I'll send you one.
Today was a better day, oil cooler finally arrived.
First had to manhandle the mounting bracket with an anglegrinder, then slapped on temperature stickers on both sides.
Fitment of the cooler is not perfect, but with minor adjustments it slid into place.
Main thing is it works :boogie2:.
Glad your sorted and back on the road again
:onya:
Not much going on with this bike, house sewer renovation has kept me busy thru my first week of summer vacation.
Today found time to do small upgrade to the bike, white dials ordered from venoxy.
They look nice Mate. Not something ive ever thought of changing. A lot like them but im happy with stock ones. Just Me.
Might be just my eyes, but I reckon it's easier to read where the needle is pointing to against the white background. White dials for the white cane brigade?
Today was a great day for waxing and i did just that. Bike came out pretty good, not perfect but good enough for trip in turku archipelago that will start on monday.
Lookin good Mate.
Holy crap that paint looks better than brand new well done :onya: :onya: :clapping: :clapping: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Today drove 420km around lake päijänne, stopped to take a photo at kärkistensalmi bridge.
Great weather, not many of these letf this summer :cry2:
As blue as the sky :hat: :hat: :hat:
So long time since last post, maybe it's time to be more active again.
Some minor changes are under work, my father sprayed little paint and i manged to purchace SV1000 4 pot front calibers for just 130€ from ebay.
May have to change topic name after installation :whistling:
Good choice! Blue & white is faster, believe me. Now you need only some parts from Rovaniemi and it's really fast.
It's legal for K2 in Finland, and your dyno man Jani can help you ;)
I really liked it all blue. Same as i like Galaxy Silver. I also like black. I have B/W , easy to please i guess. As long as its a 14 i like them all. A better looking bike? Only 2 in my opinion.

Hi Villiam3rd,
Looks great.
Have you used a clay bar ? I did my K3 with a meguiars clay bar kit, and it amazed me how much build up still comes off the paint. Then polish with liquid Caranuba wax, polishes up very well.

Hello.
No i have never used clay bar, just Presta best wax and golden autoglym.
Today went and fitted tank and rear fairing back on the bike.
Today finally did some work with brakes.
Fitted SV1000 4 pot calibers with new sintered brake pads, master cylinder overhauling kit and brembo series oro brake discs.
Now old girl has good brakes and is safe to ride.
Love those Brembo discs :)
