Title: Rough Running
Post by: Big Geordi on Thursday, 16 May 2019, 04:02 PM
Morning peeps intermittent problem Bike goes like a Train then starts to loose power runs really rough and grinds to a halt u cant wind the shite out of it and get it to clear. When it does this u can stop u don't need to wait long or let it cool down turn it off and on and it usually clears its self?? Feels like something Electrical breaking down so have put it in here.
Heres hoping someone has had something similar or am off to the TT on Shanks Pony!!  :rofl2:

First check I'd do, would be looking for blocked tank vent.   To me sounds like it's creating a vacuum in there, wait a while & it equalises.  Maybe try riding with the cap just open (½ a tank of fuel) & see if it still does it.

There is a breather pin hole in the cap assembly, can get blocked sometimes.

Geordi, everyone talks about tea bag, its the high pressure that is the problem. No use sucking it in if you cant blow it out.

From memory that's the one your looking for buddy.
After dining some research on fuel pumps for a mate that's looking to fit a much smaller pump in a project bike it seams the quite a few suzuki's and Kawasaki's share a very simular set up to the gsx1400.
