https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/first-look-2020-triumph-rocket-3-tfc all I will say is WOW.
Scroll down the page :boogie:
Agreed Chris, Wow. It does look like they've more or less copied the styling of the Diavel & stretched it a bit. But it'll be heavier & longer than a Diavel. Definitely worth a look. 29k US? That's a hellva lot of Kiwi $, too much for this kid I'm sad to say.
its a Diavel as Col says and way too expensive :)
It's to big to be given a sporty makeover
More power just means it'll be a right handful on twist rural roads .
A great looking thing but I hate the rear mudguard thing that's all the fashion these days.
I'd love a go on 1 but I'd never buy 1 .
:frustrated:
Agreed 2300cc's is a bloody big sports bike LOL. However I want a go on one
Spent 3 weeks on mates old model in Nth Qld. It was nearly 200hp, ecu, exhaust updates. Found it great, easy to ride. Parking and moving around its biggest problem. Need to plan ahead. I wanted one but tyre wear is just horrific. Admit he lived on twisty road but max 3 th k from front tyre.

Its 2500cc. And it beautiful. Also that price is the limited edition bike and NOT the main release. That wont be announced until later. Also, it looks nothing like the Diavel well not any more than the Diavel looked like the original Rocket..
The thing is an absolute collection and colaboration of modern engineering and styling. They have managed to make a bike that looks modern and still keep the clasic appeal. I for one would buy one in a heartbeat... But then i already own an R3 so i might be a little biased.
It does look nice...
But just imagine how many muscles you'd tear trying to pick it up if you dropped it :imrgreen:
I think its stunning, that is a great pic. Tail tidy as usual is needed. Theres a Diavel in my shed, certainly not a copy. I find it one of the best ive seen for a while.
Yeah no thanks a California 1400 would do me.
(different pipes goes w/out saying)

They are surprisingly easy to pick up as it is dry sump motor and crank is very low down hence centre of gravity is low.
It's a Triumph! (see what I did there).
Proper motorcycle :onya: :stir:
Hope it comes with breakdown and recovery package :rofl2:

12 months Triumph Assist breakdown cover comes as standard when you buy a new Triumph and covers you for the following: Roadside - we'll attend at the roadside anywhere in the UK to fix your motorcycle.
I'd lay money they don't offer THAT roadside service for 'any road' in Australia!
Did the Triumph Factory Experience the other weekend, and they had 3 of these on show in the holding area. Just gorgeous. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take any photos inside the factory and strangely they wouldn't let us test ride one. But in the flesh.....wow. If only I had £25k or so to buy one..... :smitten:
Back to work then Dave? :whistling:
Bikes like the new Rocket 111, the V-Max and big muscle cruisers are interesting but not for me.
They have some impressive performance numbers but when it's in in such a long heavy bike, and has shaft drive and silly size ballon tyres it's not that great.
Folk used to get excited that a V-Max was a 10th of a second faster to 100 at the strip, but I just saw it as 100 yards of bitumen where you might not get your arse kicked by bikes that are actually much better in the real world.
Muscle cruisers are just Top Trump Bikes to me (remember that game?)
Who's got the biggest CC's? Fattest tyre? Lowest 0-60? etc.
bikes to be seen on, not to disappear and enjoy riding.
I guess they suit some folk but just not me? :whatever:
It is nice that Triumph are catching up with Kawasaki with the Rocket 111's electrics though... ;)
Interestingly it's a market Suzuki haven't really entered.
I suppose it was less of a leap for Yamaha using their tourer engine.
Less of a leap for Ducati as big V-twins suit it and are their thing.
It was a bigger deal for Triumph and a step away from the normal triples they have been associated with and it seems to have paid off.
The 1800cc M109 is probably the nearest Suzuki version,
they seem to have quite a following.
I'd have one. As Stalin is (incorrectly) alleged to have said, "quantity has a quality all its own".
When I first saw a Katana I had to have one and did.
When I first saw a B-King I had to have one and did.
When I first saw Rocket 111 (newest version) I had to have one.

Don't forget to post a picture when you get one, they are a fantastic looking bike.
I think nicest looker for a long time. Anyone whos seen my posts knows i love Rockets. 3 weeks on one in Nth Qld was my 60 th birthday present. Amazing time embedded on my brain. On Thursday i thought i saw a new model one, maybe an older modded so nice. I rang Triumph dealer, not here until December. I still think it was the new model. Exhaust manifold gave it away. Not knowing if theyve changed tyre sizes, That was the problem with older models, notmuch choice. As far as copying Diavel, not really thinking that. Diavel in my shed doesnt really remind me of new model Rocket. Does in photos but way different in real.
Test pilot crashed new Rocket 3 in Tenerife yesterday.
Pics Geoff ???????? Are you OK :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
Mate sent pic and some footage of chopper going in to pick up rider.

That is the GT version :furious:
Well, he did mention lack of cornering clearance on GT. Nothing like a proper demonstration.
My mate reckon he went down a ravine on video there was armco barriers so it must have been down hill and he ended up on the road below.
ouch.
That's a very funny video :rofl2: :rofl2: :onya: :onya: :onya:

I don't know the figures, but there are a number of R&D staff in the UK, so perhaps the disproportionate numbers are not all about production.

To be completely honest I don't care where it's made. Did you see the 60MPH Video, reminiscent of my B-King's performance
Triumph have just announced that ALL bikes will now be made in Thailand, the UK will do all the R&D and some one off specials only.
Looks tailor-made for UK roads..... :whistling:
