Title: Front brakes grabbing
Post by: archno1 on Wednesday, 17 April 2019, 08:55 PM
Hi

My K3 has recently failed it's MOT. They say that the front brake is 'grabbing severely' and that it is probably the plunger in the master cylinder, but could be something else. Could somebody please advise me what they think is the likely cause of this and what the cost of repair / replacement parts might be.

Thanks a lot

you might find it is the brakes pistons that are partially seized - it does happen a lot with the Tokico 6 pots  they are renowned for it

I'd agree with Del - take off the calipers and check that all the pistons run smoothly. I'd also check that the bobbins on the discs aren't seized. I'd be surprised if its the piton in the master cyclinder in all honesty.
