Title: A clutch of '84 Interceptor V1000Fs
Post by: Globalrider on Monday, 13 February 2017, 06:32 AM
Other bikes? - two are mine and my brothers have one each.
We have done many miles throughout the USA on these - Great touring machine
I have also had a Yoshi equipped '85 (Red) one.

I have two '84 CB750s, one '73 CB750 and a '74 CB360 (in boxes)

My touring ride now for NA is an '08 R1200GS.

Nice looking collection, is the Beemer as good as they say they are?

Daveh

I love that bike - but it took some getting used to - the water cooled one are even better! They do anything and go anywhere!

I had a GSF1200S Bandit - flicked it a couple of years ago - It was an '06 last of the air cooled ones - that was a great go fast touring machine - should have hung on to it!

I've done the pre-run Baja 1000 on a KLX400 and the Continental Divide - 4000 kms in the dirt on a DR650. That was the end of my dirt riding. Now we do logging/forestry roads on the GSs. Good fun!

Cool, I want more legroom as my knees seem to be ageing faster than the rest of me.

Same problem I had, which was why sadly my 14 had to go after 9 years of ownership and I bought a new Triumph Explorer, much better sitting position, more long legged and upright, so better for my back, also the pillion is a better position and better for the wife's knees.

Sad day selling the 14, but as you get older, needs must (and did!)

Yep I rode a mates Explorer, liked it, no local Triumph dealer, they are only an hour away but that's a pain for services etc.
I like the Honda Crosstourer but have not ridden one.
