Title: Engine Weight - A challenge!
Post by: gsxbarmy on Friday, 11 January 2019, 08:37 AM
Anyone know the Engine Weight (both with and without injectors)

Dry Weight of the 14 (as standard) according to Suzuki is 228Kg (503lb)
Of that:
- Frame weight is 25.5Kg (56.22lb)
- Engine weight is ??
leaving the rest of the bike weighing ??

Who can complete the ?? !!!!

I'll ask the guy who's building my friends frame .
He lifted it out on his own .

I'd like to know....while I've lifted it (my own ) a few times . The guys who were originally going to sort my header bolts had it to long and no joy so had it back amd pissing about with a dolly  thing to move it . .....I said open my boot and picked it up amd placed it in boot.......since bike back on the road but kn stall I moved it from the jack a few times in frustration ......any future emgine work ill use a hoist . Much simple . I'd go with 120kg or more ....its damn heavy

Two of us lifted my xjr1300 engine from my garage whilst out of the frame into my back garden for painting, probably around 80 feet.......never doing that again
