Ok so I'll be adding pictures as i go
To my front-end rebuild and upgrade.
So far
I've stripped the front off the bike
(Wheel, forks,handle bars,headlight,yokes,brakes, oilcooler,exhaust and frame bearings.)
Rubbed down and de-rusted the frame .
I've now repainted the frame.
nice mate frame looks great :clapping: :clapping:
Though I'd better make an effort as some quality going on it during the rebuild .
It's going to be great once it's finished (no pressure on your bit lol )
Sent you a couple of emails buddy .
About time you did this... You have been mentioning this for 2 years :happy1:
@Blubber I know finally got my house on the market so have the time to get all the bits I've collected fitted on to the bike .
Looking forward to following your 1550 build next

:onya:
1700 cc... What's A few cc 's under friends
:smile2:
PS.. Coincidentally just delivered the modified EFE frame at the coater.
I'd convinced myself it was a 1550 but 1700 will be great can't wait to see the numbers it gives out .
I'm hoping to bring my bike over in April so that's my deadline to get it back on the road.
I got some more time in the garage so today I fitted the yokes
( these are yokes we are not American so will always be yokes :frustrated:)
They look quite good paint blue still wondering if I add some white if the bike will turn faster :stir:
Hopefully back at it later
that isn't a kick in the but from the blue were using - whats it like compared to the grab rail
I'll check when I next go in the garage 😎
Do not add white! It will make steering slower! :smoke:
Looking good.
Nice to see you found some tinkering time :onya:
Hi Seth looking good finishes off the big muscle bike look. 👍👍
Not a fan of these triple trees  not even in silver, but it's your bike, not seen a standard type top yoke that looks ok with usd's, also front guard also will look weird, soz
These are thug yokes :stir:
I don't know what triple trees are tho I think they are something American :whistling:
The bikes getting extended bking forks, that'll include a colour matched (to the rest of the bike (del is on it big time but I'll not be posting any pics till the whole bike is finished))bking mudguard , and the full radial caliper set up .
all looking good in my eyes .keep up the good work. :hat:
@Yoda it'll never be finished
But it'll be back on the road soon.
I have a spare cylinder head and throttle bodies that are needing played with in the future.plus if I manage to seak into
@Blubber's shed when I'm over in the Netherlands I'll borrow his 1700cc kit :whistling:
OOOOooooh Im all over it - even though its Cooooold :onya: :onya:
Take your time buddy no rush :notworthy:
as you can see how far I've got on with the bike so far

so its a race you want
Looking good !!
Now fitted clocks and bars
Next will be oil cooler and exhaust before fitting the forks and wheel ECT.
Are the Thugs powder coated? look good. I have some custom yokes that I am getting powder coated.
@ogrimark No they are painted .
I tried powdercoating but they looked rubbish .
Then tried anodizing but it didn't work so just got them painted .
It was a bit of a nightmare really and I'm just glad they finally turned out ok .
It's coming along nicely mate :onya:
Slower than I hoped for but moving along. :frustrated:
Great build, nothing more satisfying to see
Bit more done today
Front 6 parts of akroprovic clean3d and refitted ,oil cooler and hoses refitted, crash buttons refitted a pain as they need to be fitted in the correct order so that everything goes on properly.
Thats coming along nicely
@seth will be good when you can get the fork fitted you will be able to move it about then .
I'm almost there
Next is the rear end new chain and yoshi adjuster blocks and a pair of Pirelli Angel gt 2's next week .
Then the bking forks to extend and rebuild with new springs then bking radial brakes and master cylinders .
Still away to go yet
Your on the ball Seth.
The Kings forks are a little softer than the Busa's. They are OK but are near the end of their range as stock. Kings front guard is a little odd but if it's not to taste there's the Busa / GSXR / aftermarket ones to play with. My King is nearly 12 years old now and the brakes still impress me.
Cheers
@Tony Nitrous I have 75mm extensions for the forks and a hyperpro spring/oil kit for the forks so hopefully it'll be just fine.
1 of the things I really liked about my bking were the brakes .
The mudguard is getting del'd along with the rest of the paint work just now so should work well 8n the bike .
I have a Mate nearby who knocks up fork extensions in his shed, and a mate down south who does the same. There's a few variations but they both work.

I do buy and sell a few Suzuki parts, and hope to start doing more.
I did have a thought that if I ever had a spare front end, or put a Busa front end in my King, then a King front end would be nice on my 14. I'ts interesting watching your build as I really haven't got around to looking at ignitions, clock mounts, steering lock stops, headlight mounts etc etc yet, although I know it's all do-able.
Good luck with your build.
I believe the busa front is more advanced internally than the bking even though basically the same as later radial caliper busa forks.
I got the extenders from a company over thier call extreme creations.
And the yokes(thug yokes) are from a UK company called billet bike bits they are plug and play (you need to specify the model due to imobiliser ect) and except the mounting spacers for the lock that were to short .
a mate made up a new pair and everything else fitted no problem
I'll try add links for you and anyone else that needs the info.
I got the very low mileage forks from a friend but the spacers and yokes weren't cheap.the spacers due to 8mport charges from Australia and the yokes are about £400 here.

He's done my mates swingarms, MT-09 turbo conversions and heaps of stuff.
Well tell him his kit is top notch quality and I'm very impressed .
Only problem for me was the import duties that's no his fault.
Big steps today
After a quick chat and couple if messages/emails to
@Blubber thanks buddy
The fork extenders are fitted and a test fit of the gsx1400 front wheel into the bking forks (the axles are different so got a bargin gen 2 hyabusa one from ebay same as bking) and everything looking great just need to work out headlight fairing mounts next but it's getting there if slowly.
Looking real great Seth!
Get in there big fella - looking great - Im gonna wait till youve sorted all the wee issues out and then do this myself
did you get the heel plate bolts fitted yet
Del :onya:
It's going together better than I thought so far it was finding time and motivation .
Fitted the heel play bolts the the red and black bike I'll get a picture on shortly .
You know if you go down this route I'm always available to help . :onya:

I saw this too and wondered if you guys garden by number's (I might take a number '4' to the garden bed today. :stir: )
Mudguard on and brakes test fitted but found that the bking only uses 310mm discs so ordered 5mm spacers to bring everything right using my gsx1400 wheel (same as bking)and discs 320mm.
And the painted tail piece and grab rail .
Calipers fitted with 5mm titanium spacers
@seth will you squeeze B-King headlight on also ? :mwink: :mwink:
@GSXKING Oh god i couldn't think of anything worse for my bike .
I'm going the full retro route and fitting a twin headlight gpz style fairing eventually but might end up with the standard head light and screen I have for the mot untill winter then finish of as I want to get it out on the road asap.
HE HE it's a matter of taste I enjoyed owning a B-King but it was a licence destroyer ??? ???
I had a bking too but never took to it in the 2 years I owned it i only did 800miles on it.
The gsx1400 that replaced it has done 20000miles in 3 years .
I did love the brakes and look of the forks so that's why I'm fitting them to my turned gsx1400.
That's just me
Trying the fairing for size and working out how the mountings will go .
Loving the Blue yokes :hat:
It's going look great!
I'm having a slight issue with disc spacing but it's coming together I have a date in July I'm really aiming to have it back on the road by .
So working hard to get it there .
If anyone can do.it!!
It's easy to fix but I want to be able to use any of the wheels of any of the bikes so don't want to modify the wheels but I'll work it out .
