Hi Folks,
I've been around for awhile and had my GSX1400 K5 for three years.
The 1400 is my first "modern bike" as I've been riding old Suzuki's for years.
I still have my original GS1000G purchased new in 1981.
I'm a VJMC Australia member and was introduced to 1400's by an Irishman from the NSW Central Coast who is now living back there.
He probably still lurks around here.
The GSX has only 57,000 kms and goes like they all do.
The condition is average but I got it at a bargain price.
Some corrosion on the fork tubes so I will post a question about replacement tubes in the correct place on this forum.
Hope to meet up with some Aussie members and my Irish mate again in the future.
:welcome1:
To all things 1402
Go have a good look at the threads and topics as loads of info here .

Welcome Mate. Your Irish mate sounds familiar.
Welcome Johno!
You have great bikes! I rode 200 000 km with my GS 1000 G ยด81 during 25 years.

Gidday mate, nice to have you along.
An Irishman in Aus, now wonder who that could be . . .?
Welcome Johno.
Your Irish mate sounds familiar. If it's the same Irish gentleman I bought a Katana from then you have good taste in your choice of friends.
Now for something that isn't bull shit .... welcome again.
Gs1000g, awesome bike. Had mine a long time. Lovef that bike. Fitted Marzocchi suspension both ends.
Welcome to the forum Johno, :onya: that used to be my nickname many years ago
Welcome and enjoy the site
Welcome :hat:
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.
My Irish mate is apparently riding a Bandit 1250 while his black 1402 is hibernating on the Central coast.
He did me a favour and test rode my girl (1400) before I purchased her.
I rode the GS1000G with his1400 on a number of trips.
G'day Johno. Good to have you join us.
Welcome!
Welcome aboard Johno & your Irish mate Jeff has been bragging about his lovely whiskies in another thread, so give him time to wake up from his hangover
Bienvenue! :8:

Never heard of him.
Croeso - Welcome :)

My 1978 GS1000HC purchased new and traded for a 1981 GS1000GX which I still have on historic Registration.

Giday Jeff,
I thought you would eventually tern up.
That was a great ride and the 1402's were in their element on those winding mountain roads.
A little warmer over here today (about 39C at home) so I did an early morning run to Mt White today.
Have a look at the Christmas photo I took tonight and posted in the Christmas challenge thread.

Welcome and Seasons Greetings Johno !
Johno
Do you remember this day a couple of years back.
Jeff,
Oran Park. No longer a racetrack, now a massive housing estate.
It was the last bike race meeting at the track.
I think it was the first time I met you. You rode down with the Newcastle VJMC members.
As I recall it was about 45C in the shade.
Brings back memories of some of the rides we did with me struggling to keep up on the GS1000G.
Decided "if you can't beat join em" and picked up the 1400 with your help and wise counsel.
The 1000G is now used for club rides and the 1400 for the serious riding.
I just love the lighter unsprung weight, fuel injection, brakes and the torque.
Everything else is better!
Hope they are treating you well over there. Would love to get to Ireland again and tour some more of the great coastline.
G'day

VJMC member eh. Do you know any of the CX500 crowd in the VJMC ?
Giday Vlad,
Thanks again to you and all the others for the warm welcomes.
Even Irish has regained his memory.
The CX 500 crowd were very active at VJMC rallies in past years but not as much recently.
Know a few from Sydney and Canberra.
Joe from Maleny was a regular in the past but haven't seen him for some time.

Nice photo of you and the XJ900.
My red GS1000G is just behind, obscured by His Irishness. I'm the grey bearded one grinning in the right hand corner.

Do you remember this day a couple of years back.
A couple for Irish in Oz.
Do you remember these bikes and locations.
Inverell Rally, Copeton Dam.
A stroker day a few Pomme's and myself on the RD's. The 500's where Aussie will see if I can find pic of Jimmy's custom RD500.
Still retired but flat out doing renovations.
That brought back some great memories.
I had a coffin tank rd400 , A gs1000 and my pride and joy (Though it got stolen) a rd350lc in the same blue paint work (was told only 350 that paint job were officially imported)
Thanks for sharing
