I asked my son to pass me the phone book, and he handed me his mobile phone, saying, "dad you're so old!" Anyway, to cut a long story short, spider dead, phone smashed, son distraught. :whistling:
Well done that man!! Had a chuckle at that scenario.
Funny Gegs, i like the story. Funny enough, mrs asked me last weekend for phone book, told her to look up on phone, id thrown them all in bin. Today a new phone book showed up at front gate. Old skool still working.
Yeah, had a new phone book [yellow pages] turn up at work last week; about quarter of the size they used to be! I guess businesses just don't think it's worth being in there any more.
We had a new phone book delivered last week it says it's the final edition
I guess it's going to be yell.com for the future.
As already said it's small and not really very much in it .
Guess that's progress
That's fine for all those with a smartphone and PC but my mother in law lives on her own in a small village and has no computer or mobile phone and she's not the only one. What are people like her supposed to do when they need to find a number?
Buy a cell phone?
I'm guessing 'directory enquiries' is still available in the UK but not sure if those calls are free [I suspect 'not'].
