Title: engine revs up for no reason
Post by: tartan lad on Tuesday, 23 October 2018, 02:27 AM
just recently i took my engine out of the frame to get exhaust studs drilled out (got that sorted) when i put engine back in the frame and all wires connected and ready to start so i hit the start button it started but it reved to 4000 and stayed there, the throttle cables seam to be ok, WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM, cheers from tartan lad.

Wouldn't have something jamming the throttle bodies linkages by chance? Wouldn't have to be much to get 4000 rpm with no load on it, just not sitting back where they should be.

Another possibility, the adjuster screws have been messed with while the engine was out?

I think he means "no reason". I've adjusted the heading to reflect that
