Long weekend here, Monday off. Thought we would catch up with a friend for lunch 95 kms away at the Whakatane Fishing Club.
Just a lovely day, hardly a cloud in the sky.
Stopped just before Matata on the way down to have look at the sea. Its not often that flat. Got to the fishing club at 12.15, had a look at the wharf and some people fishing. Our friend turned up after his two and a half hour ride from the farm in Gisborne on his ST1300, I think he's 74, great bloke.
Had a nice lunch then we went our separate ways and headed home.
Photos are looking out towards the active volcano of White Island from Matata. Crowded beach looking towards Whakatane. Whakatane Wharf. Fishing Club.
I've heard there is about 60kms in the tank when both the gas pump and the last bar starts to flash ? We rolled into the gas station with a dead motor.
My share price might have tumbled had I cut that any finer.
The bike did clock up 60,000kms today. 50 of it mine. Looking forward to many more :onya:
Well done Col! You're lucky with the fuel. It's a brave man that would run it that close with management onboard.
Been a great day in Kaikoura too.
Looks like a great day out KF :onya:
Awesome day and ride too thanx for sharing
Running out of fuel was not planned Col. How far is safe when both start flashing ?.
great pics kiwi. looks a good day out. both flashing is 1.75 litres. 27ks on mine. both flashing i know i can get into town, its 18ks, done it a few times. i try not to get that low but just happens sometimes.
Ooops not 60ks then
If you were to coast down hill for 35K you'd probably get 60k :whistling: else, no.
Looking good!!
Worse places you could be eh!
