Title: Multi bike policies
Post by: Basil Brush on Tuesday, 25 September 2018, 07:22 AM
Righto boys n girls...

Looking at getting another bike. No - not getting rid of 14. So, I need a multi policy. Company I'm with do not. Tried one. CN. I was shocked at what they came back at. I currently pay £86. FC. CN wanted over £300. Then dropped to 225 when I told em to politely shove it.

Any suggestions please? Gonna try ringing round...

Many thanks as always.

BB

Maybe 2 single bike policies would be cheaper!?

Eyup B.B.,I'm with Bennetts with up to 4 bike policy, you don't have to have 4 bikes though, not sure on what my renewal will be come December time, having two separate policies is ok Andre but you can only use no claims discount on one of them,,looks like you may be spending a while on the phone B.B. good luck,

This can be true if no insurers do both types of bike you own.

I've got both of mine with CN, but I know if I got a sportsbike I'd struggle to add it as the underwriter I'm with don't like them. At least that's how CN explained it too me once, not that I've ever wanted a spurtsbike.

I think most companies are making it much harder to get multi bike policies.
I think your going to have to give as many insurance companies as possible then play them against each other for the best deal as with single bike policies.

Good luck hope you get a good result.
:frustrated:

I dumped CN this year after 20 years as their service and knowledge of bikes and how they run things is atrocious.
I've now gone with Bikesure for my heavily modified Bandit and slightly modified GSX14. I ended up paying about £325 for the two.

Try BeMoto, I have three bikes on a multi with them, best deal I could find and they don't take the piss at renewal time.

I have mine separately with Bennetts, the 14 and a Mk1 1200 Bandit - but they will cover you for breakdown and repatriation when you're abroad. Never heard of Bemoto but may give them a try next year as multi-bike policies aren't common nowadays.

Who do Bennetts use for their euro recovery?

Axa as used by CN are fookin shite once you're out of the UK. Which reminds me, I'm got to chase them again for the £1k they owe me!

Hooli I don't know who they use, I've just renewed the insurance on my 1200 and asked the woman on the other end of the phone during the conversation if they did repatriate broken down bikes. It's something I'll query next year closer to the time I'm due to go abroad. Good luck getting your cash refunded
