I have always had these "navigation" buttons.... On my Android phone ( running oreo) and using Chrome.

But i can not see the logic behind it. Lately this has started to bother me.

Hence the question :

- Do I need a additional "font" pack to fix it

I get those as well Blubber.  I've got a Windows phone.  I think they're shortcuts to different parts of the forum, but I can never remember which & there's no help to say what they do.

My favourite is the forum button. 

Not sure about the logic though.

Because I don't use these buttons hardly at all, I don't know which button is the forum one.  I just scroll down down down until I find recent posts.

Yes, they are icons which are used on mobile devices to replace the words one sees when viewing the forum on a PC.  (Due to lack of screen real estate on the former).

No @Blubber you don't need any extra font packs or anything. What you are seeing is what is supposed to be there.

I agree it's difficult to remember what does what, but I think they are in the same order as the headings on the forum.

In order:
house = Home
signpost = Forum
life ring = Help
magnifying glass = search
person = profile
? = member map
envelope = messages
calendar = calendar
? = Downloads
? = Gallery
? = Links
2 people = Members
key = log out

Those with ? are because there are no forum icons for those (they are additions to core code) and sadly that can't be easily changed.

Really the only two worth remembering for daily use are:

signpost = Forum
envelope = messages

Note - the next major iteration of the forum software (probably 6 months away or so) has a similar theme but is more mobile-optimized so hopefully the mobile menu system then will be better or at least more flexible.

I'd sussed out the forum signpost icon..I thought it was a hanged man :lol:

often wondered why a hangman, i just kept playing/using them. i know what does what by doing that. strange icons.
