Title: The first chilly ride
Post by: Speedy1959 on Sunday, 23 September 2018, 05:16 PM
I did around 160 miles yesterday and it was the first time since last winter I was feeling pretty chilly!
So first thing this morning I put Sophies ears back on (Knuckle guards) and also put the liners back in my jacket and kecks (Kecks = trousers).

Setting of at 10am this morning on another "little" jaunt once my mate turns up.

If you think this is chilly Speeds, wait until Scotland

I'll be sporting cycling Lycra as a base layer with armoured jeans then padded waterproof trousers on top!

On the plus side if it's raining it's usually a bit warmer  :onya:

Hi Icebreaker..
I got the idea from this forum..
They are called Knuckle Guards and in my case they are from a 2010 Suzuki DL1000 V Strom

Hope this helps..
Ooops i just noticed you are in Iceland so it may not !

@Red Biker it was actually a lovely day in scotland today .
In double figures most of the day .
Only cool bit was up by the ski centers but it was soon back up nice and warm again .
Best news is all the closed roads from a few weeks ago are all now reopened so happy days.

Cold here in South Wales this morning..Not far off a frost at a guess.
I'm not riding again until I'm back on shift on Wednesday this week.
The winter gloves (not the heated ones yet) have come out along with the Hein Gericke Goretex jacket with winter linings..The ride home in leather jacket, t shirt, boxer shorts and summer leather troosers with summer gloves last Friday morning was very chilly indeed!

Ahh you've not heard the latest excuse from the global warming tards for that? The warmth will move the Gulf stream so the UK & northern europe gets colder.

I'm all for protecting the environment but I'm sick of this imaginary global warming that is easy to tax & has no proven science behind it. We should be concentrating on real environmental damage such as pollution, deforestation, strip mining, rubbish in the seas etc etc.

I agree Hooli, but Batty's in Perth, long way from the Gulf Stream.
