G'day. Steve here. I'm relatively new to the bike scene....perhaps 6 years into a mid life crisis. Anyway, I live in regional NSW, Australia and have worked as a country Highway Patrol cop for 30 years.
I love my GSX which I bought off the original owner last year.
Big bike for a big bloke to cover big distances....and I love the traditional look.
Welcome :hat:

6 years into a mid life crisis
Wife's workmate got divorced and got himself a motorcycle, his workmates laughed he'd be getting a younger girlfriend as part of his "mid life crisis".
I replied "Big bikes and younger girlfriends? That's not a crisis, that's a lifestyle, I've been doing that for the last 35 years!!"
I'm up in Qld but I venture into NSW occasionally for a change of scenery, Walcha, Macksville, Dubbo etc.

Welcome Steve!
Welcome mate
Welcome to the forum Steve, :onya: Just to set the record straight, NO ONE on this forum ever speeds. :whistling:
Hand up, I do. I've got the demerits to prove it :facepalm: :doh: :thumbs_down:
There's always one, should have known it would be you :doh:
Bloody Kiwis... bad example for everyone :stir:
Yes, but I've paid me fines n learned my lesson. :mwink: The lesson being don't get caught breaking the speed limits. :devil: Hence the radar detector (TPX2) mounted on the bars . . . :whistling:
Really, I do try & behave myself. Sometimes though, ya know, the girl has to stretch her legs a bit. :smitten: She just has to be a bit more careful where she chooses to do it. :smoke: :cheers:
Radar detector? Are they legal there col? Banned here....
Very banned here too. And won't help you with LIDAR which is becoming much more prevalent.
Anyway I'm sure a GSX1400 can't go over 110 anyway, surely... ;)
Never tried Vlad.. never tried. I'm sure you're probably right tho. The kiwis will definitively know... they seem to like driving on the edge :happy1:
Welcome aboard Steve :cheers:
Welcome Steve I am in Canberra ACT
Very nice bike to sort out the mid life concerns, enjoy

Our lot can't afford that Mike. :happy1: & you'd crack 110 in 2nd if ya wanted
Thanks for the warm welcomes. Someone has to speed...a bloke has to make a living...
How do I add photos here?
Welcome to the forum Steve :onya:
If you are available on the weekend of 9-11 November there are a few of us heading to Wauchope for a bit of a get together (http://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=1943.0) - always great to see new faces in amongst this lot!!
With regards to pictures, click on the "Attachments and other options" + icon at the bottom of the Post window and it will expand all the bits for attachments to a post....

Looks good Steve, is it a K6 with twin pipes?
What does the K6 designation mean? From memory it is a 2006 model. Previous owner sourced OE second pipe from Suzuki. Balances it out more I think.

Just the code for the year model Steve.
K6 = 2006
K5 = 2005 etc
That little mod would have cost the PO an arm & a leg! The balance thing will be the appearance, actually goes better with a 4 into 1 system. Bugger all in it in std setup though. The poms call them wheelbarrows! when they have 2 cans. :lol:

Yeah. Just remember it doesn't tell you the whole story, it's the model not really the build or sale.
I have a K8 (2008) bike here that was built, sold, registered and used late in 2007. The same model was in the showroom in 2008, and in some areas still on sale in 2009 or 2010. All identical bikes and all a "K8".
