any bikes of the last couple of years you blokes think are stunners, really look nice. sort of stand out like classics from the past. thruxton r my only one.
Yep I'd agree on the Thruxton, although the new Kwak z900 has a certain pull to it - saw one in the flesh the other week, very nice. Would also consider a Norton Commando but price a bit prohibitive.
I think the Ducati Monster is a great looking naked bike, although it doesn't really qualify as "from the last couple of years" because they've been making more or less the same thing for 20+ years. I'm not even sure I would want to own one either. But they look nice.
BMW RnineT is also a looker, in my opinion.
Agree with you on the Z900, it looks lovely.
Norton Commando looks brilliant. Water cooled Ducati Monster does look excellent from the right side bit not so cool from the left side, all that plumbing does spoil it a bit.
Ducati Desert Sled - my next bike
I love the Moto Guzzi California 1400. Not stunning perhaps but certainly a cut above the Harleys, Indians, Intruders and such.
MV Augusta F4.
Not a bike for me but I reckon they look great!
:hat:
One more vote for the Thruxton, it just looks the part for me.
Here's a good looker that's been severely assaulted with the ugly stick.
Good grief! That Honda is really a Hardley in disguise... :whatever: but I am sure it will have its fans. One mans meat and all that...
I like the look of the Honda. Back guard is too long for me though. How does that front suspension work? Looks very complicated when it didn't need to be.
But I like the look of the bike overall.
Can't think of anything I The last few years.
I have a huge list of bikes from the 70's on the just looked right but no recent ones.
Bikes looking like Transformers or retro bikes that look like they've dropped the wrong tank on the frame and added infill panels etc.
There's a few new bikes I'd love to own but that's due to their ability, not because I think they are a thing of beauty.
To me stuff like the ZR750 Zephyr had nice lines, and the ZRX1200 ELR had tough mean stance, the original 99 Busa had functional sleekness that beat everything, the DR-BIG had a far away Pari-Dakar style.
I'm just not seeing it in the current bikes.
Snapey that's the Honda Rune (aka Honda Valkyrie Rune). I've seen one in the flesh and it's uglier than photos suggest, especially from the rear.
They were, as I recall, poisonously expensive when sold here in 2004. More than an HD.
Looking at BikeSales ASKING prices for an 04 model, with up to 50,000kms, are generally north of $40K
That asking prices, mind you, not sold prices. Stupid money. especially when a NEW 2018 'Wing can be had for $36K...
I had the pleasure of riding a Rune a friend owned briefly and it was a joy to ride certainly a head turner as you cruise past. Like all Goldwing motored bikes heaps of grunt. Not everyones cup of tea but I have never seen another one. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
New Norton commando, looks real good
